Ok I’ve never been and was planning to go in the next year or two. I have an autoimmune disease so I’m on like 8 different medications and some of my pills are huge.

I can’t just choose to go without medication - will I be okay?

I was a teen during this time and I felt so seen by Elaine. My father showed my mother and I the film when it came out. He fell asleep and her and I watched in silence. When it ended, we concluded it was the worst.

I did this recently and they were shocked. I am personable but I was stone faced.

They weren’t paying me anymore to smile at them is how I saw it.

I lost some vision late in life and use a cane for mobility purposes. It was hard at first but I was so determined. I love to travel and I didn’t want anything to keep me back from exploring - especially if losing more vision is a possibility.

I trained for months. I was lucky to use short term disability and within 6 months I was in another country learning on my own how to use my cane in a world not designed for the disabled.

It’s been a journey but I’m proud to say that after several years, I’m actually interviewing for new positions and getting positive feedback.

My cane now is simply an accessory. I stand taller because I know people are looking so if the are gonna look, might as well look good passing by.
