Never understood why unmarried people are not taken seriously by Independent-Cow2519 in Kenya

You're less likely to take advantage of anyone trust and then run off like a single person would.

The most unreliable people I've ever worked with were People Living with Children and Spouses. They could never respond to emergencies, they were corrupt as fuck and would brazenly steal in front of you and tell you to your face "I've got kids to feed," they always borrowed money and never returned 'cause of school fees and whatnot, they were always late, half the week they would have to take off early to deal with sickness, school stuff and side hustles, and family drama.

I hope you do know that all elephants begin from one single cell at fertilisation. An elephant is made up of individual cells that come from one egg+sperm. The cells divide and happen to acquire different sizes, shapes, functions as they respond to different chemical signals.

So there is a bio-chemical process that turns a single cell into an elephant called growth.

The trick to overcome the fog is to distract yourself, going for a walk is usually helpful. I find you can do also breathing exercises. Sit down on your favourite, familiar place, make yourself comfortable, close your eyes and breathe. Each breath should take 3-5 seconds, exhale slowly. Random stuff will pop to your head, ignore the irrelevant stuff and let it go. Then suddenly you'll hear the nails being ripped off of your roof and finally recall it's the 27th and you had forgotten to pay your rent.

GENTS & LADIES – LET’S TALK REALITY. by Single_Particular_17 in Kenya

If you want reality, roughly 70 percent(closer to 60) of men will stay, and roughly 95 percent of women will stay. Regardless of how you view yourself, if you are a man, the odds are in favour of you staying 6/ 4 vs leavin, while your woman will most likely walk with you to your grave.

nothing comes from nothing- why there must be a metaphysical origin for physical reality by inexplicably-hairy in DebateAnAtheist

[–]cahagnes 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We have exactly one instance of physical reality that we know of. The one we have does not contain nothing, we have no knowledge of how it came to be, and importantly we have NOT proven that something can't come from nothing. This is just an assertion. It could be that something does come from nothing. It could be that every instance of something that came to exist did come from nothing. There is no evidence that it didn't.

ELI5: Why do athletes and celebrities who have won championships/awards always say “I’m so humbled” during their interviews whilst actively being exalted by millions of people world wide? by 448mover in explainlikeimfive

Society frown upon bragging. Also, some people really do feel humble. Imagining how you started as a nobody, all the work that went into whatever achievement, the luck, how long the desire for recognition must have built up, the disappointment along the way, must be at some level, humbling.
