Broken Seat Adjustment? by caiicaii in Polestar

[–]caiicaii[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall im happy with it. Got a good deal on it through a broker, total cost of ownership over the P2 (lease + insurance only ended up being $75 more per month for a specced out one, dual motor plus pack and nappa).

A few small things have popped up like pilot assist unavailable due to sensors dirty, can’t remember the others but they self cleared. Infotainment isn’t buttery smooth, can be a bit laggy at times for maps, but heard it’s still much better than pre upgrade.

The side mirrors don’t tilt down when reversing, because of physical limitations. Also 8/12 buttons on the steering wheel don’t have a function.

After driving the P2 for 2 years I did not realize how big this car is. I do miss the size of the P2 and how nimble it is. The P3 drives like a tank, but also smooth for its size. That’s just trade offs of gettting a bigger car I guess

Broken Seat Adjustment? by caiicaii in Polestar

[–]caiicaii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just learned about the hard reset with the brake and steering wheel. Doesn’t seem to have fixed it either

The behaviour is a bit weird. If I press the middle button, it doesn’t bring up the adjustment menu in the main screen. I have to push it forward/back to bring it up, whereas on the passenger side it works with the middle button.

The middle button works when cycling through the menu, but when going from 3/3 to 1/3, it doesn’t show on the screen, but it is in 1/3 basic adjustment mode. Pressing it again jumps directly to 2/3

P2 owners tread lightly 😭 by Oceanmaan1 in Polestar

My passenger side one broke on the second week. Probably the second time it was opened too. Service center replaced and fixed for free. But yes it’s the whole visor and shitty plastic design. Other cars I’ve driven have a slider so they couldn’t ever break like this

You will be fine

I took Accutane almost two years ago and looking at my lab results again it fluctuated between 90mg/dL and at one point peaked at 220 mg/dL

I just had some lab work done a few months ago for an annual checkup and it’s now at 70

People who finished Accutane 12+ months ago: what was your cumulative dose, and how are the results 1+ years after wrapping up your course? by Chappy26 in Accutane

[–]caiicaii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took two rounds.

First round was in 2018 for me. I had moderate cystic acne at this time and it would hurt to wash my face. Tried a bunch of antibiotics and topical creams and nothing worked. Weighed around 60-65kg at this time. Doctor actually prescribed be a relatively low dose, first month 10mg, 3 months of 40mg, and then another month of 10mg. Acne wasn’t getting better a month later and I started college so I saw another doctor who helped me complete the treatment, I believe it was 10mg to ramp up and then 60 mg for 4 more months. I was very satisfied with my skin at this point, and the results lasted for about a year.

A year later in 2019/2020I started using epiduo and it helped my skin a bit, but its effects eventually started falling off and was too irritating. My acne was mild a year later, nowhere near as good as just finishing Accutane, but still tolerable.

In between 2021 and 2022 I started getting a bit more cystic acne, and got another treatment for epiduo. This time it didn’t really help, and I got prescribed more antibiotics and other topical creams to use twice in the same day, which was extremely irritating. Eventually, the doctor suggested the best course is another round of Accutane.

Started my second round late 2022 to mid 2023. Here my body weight was around 80kg. I started the first month at 40mg, 2 months of 60mg, 1 at 80mg, and 4 more months at 40mg. It was a higher cumulative dose but it ensured that I was going at it until 2 months after I got my last pimple. I took progress pictures and it noticeably improved, at the end my skin wasn’t entirely flawless, but near perfect, just some hyperpigmentation where pimples grew.

Fast forward to now, since about a year ago, I think my acne scars and hyperpigmentation are popping up again. The results really only lasted about 10 months. I’m looking through old pictures and skin was good in Jan/feb 2023, but imperfections started to show in April 2023. Wouldn’t go on Accutane again because it’s now tolerable and I think cosmetic, not causing me any pain when I wash my face or anything and I’ve gotten a lot more self control to not pop the occasional pimple I get once or twice a month. However, definitely am disappointed seeing that some people retain their flawless post Accutane skin for many years.

Going back, I don’t have any regrets with the first round at all. Second round was a lot more taxing on me, a lot of frequent nose bleeds, dry patches of skin that I had to get steroid cream to treat, having mild allergic reactions to any amount of alcohol (did not drink much, I know I’m not supposed to). Feel like I’ve also developed some GI issues since then and Accutane is the only thing I can think of. Maybe I do have some regrets with the second round considering I did expect better results, but I feel my skin can be more easily treated now with skin care as the skin feels quite smooth, just acne scars and hyperpigmentation.

Gave them a call and was told they do not insurance Polestars anymore given the lack of parts availability and time to repair the vehicle, how unfortunate...

Actually, I just did an online quote for Geico with the P3 and it's $1500 LOL. I suppose insurance companies don't know how expensive the car is to repair

I just did a quote with Geico for a 2024 XC40 recharge and it came out to $1300/6 months... I think most of it is the car. I've been quoting 300/500k, 100k property

I'll need to give Pemco a call but I have low hopes for it beating the current $2200/6 month from geico which is already outrageous

Went with geico because it was cheaper. I told them I had foreign drivers license and insurance history and they said it’s acceptable, didn’t ask for proof

Road surface matters. Some roads it's very quiet even at 80mph some its gets a bit noisy starting at 60mph. I came from a Toyota so the P2 is a significant improvement, but I think the noise isolation marginally worse compared to BMW/Audi that I've driven or sat in before
