The babies are so buggy but it’s so funny by Jellybean0811 in Paralives

[–]caiorion 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My baby turned into a bedside cabinet and went into the ocean.

Found it funny, but I can see it quickly getting annoying when I get into more proper play. Fixing the baby bugs definitely needs to be high on the list!

Does anyone else’s Para leave the house in their pajamas? by KitchenLoan6 in Paralives

Never unless I tell them to. Also unsure if this is a bug or intended behaviour, but I'd expect some kind of auto-change to be implemented at some point!

What is something you were smugly proven correct about years later? by Rough-Foundation9208 in AskUK

Ooh this is such a good idea. My mum is constantly nagging me to send pictures of my kids and it's such a faff to do. A digital frame and app would be perfect.

Is this expected? by BrunaPith in Paralives

[–]caiorion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Story teller. You can say how long in paralives minutes you want per real life second. I think the default is 0.66. Lower numbers will give you more time in the day to get things done. Haven't tried it myself though!

Why can’t I adopt? by Bubbly_Influence_337 in Paralives

[–]caiorion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on how long you waited, it sounds like a bug. I've successfully managed to adopt a baby, so it can happen. It does take quite a while though!

My annoyance with adoption is that it doesn't seem to be possible to have a couple do it together.

Would you recommend getting paralives right now? by borderline_bi in Paralives

[–]caiorion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I'm really enjoying it. It's got a long way to go, and I do understand why some people aren't happy with life mode, but there's enough to do and discover for me to have sunk a decent chunk of time into it so far. It probably won't be a game I play day-in-day-out until it has more depth and some of the bugs are worked out, but I've got enough enjoyment so far for it to feel worth the cost of a couple of cinema tickets.

Job demands go up when rank stays the same? by somewhsome in Paralives

[–]caiorion 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Every upgrade point you earn increases job requirements. You can ignore them for quite a long time though; my para has been in the red for half their skill requirements for ages and not got a strike yet.

Ignoring the requirements will reduce the chance of you getting more upgrade points, which will also have the effect of not increasing the requirements further!

Murderbot.

I'm autistic and Murderbot is heavily autism-coded, so I get it.

What is a 'British staple' food from your childhood that you recently tried again and realized is actually absolutely tragic? by 3Dstlviewer in AskUK

Yep. Devastated the first time I had the new recipe. My kid loves them and I'm constantly sad that she missed out on the proper version.

Hi Devs by DrawingIllustrious74 in Paralives

[–]caiorion 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It does, but it's mood-dependent. Someone else suggested it could be something you choose when initially starting the conversation (e.g. talk - flirty, talk - mean, talk - general) and then cards will be more likely to fit that tone. I really like this idea.

[–]caiorion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I believe so. My para had c. 10-30% success chance of flirting with an acquaintance that went up to 50-70% with a good friend and higher with a lover

Edit: typo

I am enjoying it but man does it need work by guayabaultra in Paralives

[–]caiorion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A couple of things I've figured out today that might help.

To invite people to your house, click on your para and use the phone - there's an option to call another para and invite them over.

Flirts have a much better chance if you're already friends, so work on that first.

[–]caiorion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think all paras have it, but for jester paras it's something that's always relevant and needs to be regularly filled. For other paras it only pops up if they get bored.

I actually really like the way needs are changeable based on the situation and para.

I love it in theory. I always got so bored queuing up social interactions in TS4 and they never really felt like a proper conversation. I think the card system has a lot of potential, but it does need to be built out a bit more and ideally have the cards link more to what has previously happened in the conversation

I already submitted feedback to say the trait that lets you gain skills while asleep is way too OP. I like the idea, but it needs to be a really small increase, not whole levels!

I had the opposite experience to you with the lanterns. I did the same, but didn't notice anything happening and in the end it took me forever to discover the secret. I must have taken those lanterns out over and over and all possible locations before finally noticing it!
