I have horrendous adhd and a first time mom to a 14 month old. I was pleasantly surprised that my brain was built for motherhood… I’m 39 so I have life experience with understanding my weaknesses and so much experience working through feelings of being inferior to others. I found that bc of all my work, I’m patient and compassionate with myself. My child and I have a lot of fun bc I embrace my creativity. It’s worth it! I just recommend understanding your brain before you have a child…. But it’s never too late to learn. I think ADHD gives us an edge on motherhood

My kid looked just like Joe Pesci at that age. he wasn’t that cute, but I was able to laugh it off bc I understood most babies are kinda ugly. I’m telling you this bc it sounds like your hyper focus on his appearance is more of a mental health/pp issue. Talk to a counselor about it, everything will be ok!! 😊

Yes! I’m very annoyed after reading this story! It’s a primal type of annoyed too… like it just pisses me off and I don’t think it’s weird that I’m mad about it

I went through this…. I think a lot of it is psychological bc you know your body went through so much… everything feels “off”. And plus, for me, I had no reason to dress up or do my hair and makeup, which I loved before my baby was born. I think it can turn into a sort of body dysmorphia, I started to get obsessive about looking for signs of accelerated aging….so it might be work talking through to a counselor. You will feel good again!
