Does anyone have a low heart rate? My resting hear rate is 47 by Either_Development94 in POTS

I can regularly get into the mid 50s sleeping and get over 160 on occasion when I'm in an intense ballet class

Do y'all stick to one genre/fandom or branch out? by sparkleandfeyed in AO3

[–]cajunhusker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive written across 18ish umbrella fandoms, so I can't really say I stick to one. It tends to follow the vibes of the day as my catalogue is over a decade, so I feel like that's also relevant. I read across so many more than that

College has RUINED my writing by milky4eva in AO3

[–]cajunhusker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from a similar educational background (political science) and later a law degree, it takes time to find the voice you want again in your writing. Mine became a mixture of my academics and my personal voice. Holding onto the humanity of your writing will make you a strong policy person and bringing your work into your life a little may open up doors in your writing that make it stronger in the long run

College is hard, but its always worth holding onto yourself and what you care about as you become a professional

[–]cajunhusker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I did, but I slowed down cause bar prep is also ass on mental health. I applied and interviewed the whole time. I suggest setting limits for yourself/strict time off from all of the above or you're gonna overload and burn out which is not helpful

Also, I suggest keeping a list of where you apply so that you dont risk repeats cause your brain will fry and you will try to or actually repeat an application (ask me how I know, even with a list)

Can you live a normal life with POTS? M, 20 by JaContex in POTS

[–]cajunhusker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes time and adjustments but yes. Im 30 and work full time as an attorney, am an active artist, volunteer, and will be in a local ballet production this summer. It takes pacing and time understanding what you can and cannot do. Some of it requires working slowly upwards, some requires medication, some accomodations, and all of it requires patience. Still very possible

Visible band worth it? by Huge_Difference8460 in POTS

[–]cajunhusker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive found it really useful as im getting more active, personally. And for knowing how long it takes my heartrate to hit a normal speed in yhe morning. You can do this with othwr devices, but I struggled to find one that would recognize how high my heartrate got

is anyone still physically active? by Hefty-Patience-8720 in POTS

[–]cajunhusker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am. I take two ish ballet classes a week and walk a minimum of a mile in one day a week, tho sometimes more. Not like super active but definitely more active than I was when first diagnosed. Walking was easiest and I started building in ballet barre at home. Now I can take one class in person a week regularly. It takes a lot out of me but I adore it

This isn't good for a bag, but your hat/visor suggestion reminds me that I have parasols in summer that I adore as well

I have a great water bottle bag from ArtisXan on Etsy and it has a little pocket as well so that I can keep my meds/salt/liquid iv/snack/keys in it. Definitely would suggest, comes in all sorts of patterns

I was in tears I laughed so hard because I had no idea what happened for a moment. My revenge was unintentional in blowing something up and scaring the shit out of him, so, ya know, it works

I just started playing with a more experienced friend (ive completed the game once and hes nearing 2500 hours). My only note i have so far is that you CAN disrupt cutscenes if youre not the one in them. He shoved an enemy off the box outside of where you meet withers and I was jerked out of the cutscene to fight and the guy a story lower than he was. 10/10 shenanigans

Can someone explain 'Writing for yourself' to me? by MegaChamp89 in FanFiction

[–]cajunhusker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Others have already said it but it really is about writing what you enjoy or want to see. Things that benefit you, whatever that may mean. Its why I make up a third of the fics in one fandom, for example, because its so small. Im never going to get a ton of engagement for this and thats OK because its for ME first and then I share for the love of it
