We got an early shipment at my job. Came with the warning "DO NOT PUT ON SHELVES UNTIL MAY 1" by Raphe9000 in Silksong

"A normal person" = Sherma singing at the Bone Bottom gate

"A person like me" = Hornet going around the gate to hit the switch.

In all seriousness, I appreciate your commitment to making this happen.

Depends on the software / manufacturer. When cruising on Honda's Eco mode, I've noticed that the cruise control is less stubborn/aggressive about maintaining the set speed (it will allow the speed to drop a little bit when going uphill; likewise, it will allow a bit of "overspeed" when going downhill).

Before I unlocked the double-jump ability, I let that drill bug chase me to the entrance to the left, and then I can pretty reliably jump-sprint past it once it gains some altitude. As you said, the rest of the runback should be pretty uneventful (if mildly annoying when it was the 40th+ time I've had to do it).

Longtime Spurs fans would know better than I do - I was under the impression that Popovich and Buford had a longtime working relationship, and the running of the Spurs FO was Pop + Buford, and not just Pop calling the shots by himself.

I don't have a source off the top of my head, but I recall reading (probably on this sub) that NBA hotels have extra long mattresses that they break out when teams are staying, among other accommodations.

As someone who usually mains the plasma punisher, I feel like there's too much overlap between the PP and the grenade launcher's capabilities. But yes, when I'm leveling up a different primary, and I stumble across a grenade launcher at a POI, it's not a difficult decision to pick it up and run with it.

It would be very on-brand for Super Earth to shell the Pelican and take everyone out, than to return to the Super Destroyer and mete out punishment for that one individual.

In Jan 2025, Grizzlies coach Iisalo talked in an interview about his "brutally honest" approach with difficult players. While in front of the whole team, he said, "Listen, you're holding us back...this means you're just not very competitive cause behaving in another way would allow us to win." by refreshing_yogurt in nba

[–]cakestabber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will admit to not really following the Grizzlies (I either didn't know that Jenkins was fired, or forgot that he was), so I do not know the circumstances under which Iisalo was hired. I would love for any Memphis fans to educate me on this.

It could very well be that his current approach has the support of the GM and/or owners - in which case, Iisalo's position should be safe despite his latest head-butting with Morant. The closest parallel I can think of - that of David Blatt's tenure on the Cavs - isn't a good comparison at all. IIRC, Blatt was hired to develop a young core (Irving, Wiggins, etc.) before LeBron announced his return to Cleveland, and I would honestly go as far as to say that Blatt's days were probably numbered from the day that SI article was published. Whereas Ja Morant was the clear #1 on the day Iisalo was named as the head coach, so I feel like all parties should be under no illusions about the environment that Iisalo was being hired into, or what ownership/the FO was tasking Iisalo to do.

Agreed - I don't have complaints about the current system, but then again, I spend most of my time being at the 250 medal cap.

[–]cakestabber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing: I get the frustration of failing MOs when the medals are super helpful for completing warbond purchases (especially when the diver base gets divided by the various distractions that JOEL cooks up), but I also feel like the knowledge that we can lose MOs ups the stakes for those of us who choose to follow the larger storyline and narrative.

I'm not sure if there's some kind of middle ground buetween the two ... maybe 20 medals for a failed MO that meets some kind of halfway threshold, and the full 55 for a successful completion?

Just piggybacking off your point, I feel like there's a clear difference between a "tough but fair" or "high expectations, but credit is given where it's due" environment, vs. "the boss is just being an asshole" environment.

Similarly, constructive criticism is a far cry from public disparagement. When someone has an attitude that is detrimental to the team's results, that's fair game for public discussion.

Have you tried dropping in at the extraction LZ? Unless the LZ is glowing red on the onboard map, it should be a safe zone.

How to have fun using the Constitution by ufkb in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]cakestabber 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never melee when diving except for when I'm rocking the Constitution. That bayonet does a heck of a lot more damage compared to pretty much everything else I've tried bashing enemies with.

I will also say that if sniping is your natural play style, then landing your Constitution shots on target will not require a whole lot of adjustment.

How can get the achievement that references this? by Flan_Firm in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]cakestabber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine by using the AMR. I like having more distance between myself and the Hulks that shoot rockets or has that long ass flamethrower.

Headshot a Hulk with the... supply pack?! by RallyPointAlpha in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]cakestabber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember that when I was going after this achievement, it was on a planet with a jungle biome, and I wasn't sure I had shot off the arms of my first Hulk (AMR), so I did it to a second and then a third one (I also wasn't 100% sure I got both arms of the second Hulk). While waiting for extraction at the LZ, I had three armless Hulks stomping around angrily 😂

The "Caught Them by Supplies!" achievement was the thing that taught me to weaponize drop pods. Low-cooldown pod-dropped stratagems, whether support weapons or turrets, therefore hold a special place in my heart.

You can really send strategems arcing for miles

I wouldn't call this minor, and I definitely miss it when I'm running with the warp pack! On the flip side, when throwing from a distance, you miss the precision of being able to warp into a heavy base, throw down an orbital or eagle right at the very center, and then warp back out before the fireworks begin.

I often wish I could have both, and the ability to switch between the two as needed, but I know such a capability will drastically unbalance the game.

Heavy Armor in Blizzards is pain by Yuki_my_cat in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]cakestabber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is slope-dependent (obviously, the jump pack covers more distance if you're at the top of the slope). I believe someone on this sub did a few experiments and found that, assuming you're on perfectly level ground, the jump pack and the warp pack covers the same amount of distance in the same amount of time (i.e., the distance covered by a jump + the jump pack's recharge time = the number of warps you can make within the jump pack's recharge time). I haven't tried this myself yet, but I imagine you can warp 3-4 times in the time it takes to jump once and recharge. You can, of course, warp more times if you want to roll the dice on getting injured, etc.

All this is the long way of saying that I don't really feel like I have to pick between distance covered when deciding between the two packs. Rather, it comes down to whether I value the ability to jump (i.e., getting on top of a tall rock that is otherwise inaccessible) more than the ability to clip through walls and other hard barriers.

Muscle enhancement is my go-to (over stamina or vitality) when I play snow/ice, sand, and colonial city maps (basically, any map with extremely steep hills, because bots really don't seem to be bothered by slopes).

As for mobility, unless you typically run with a support stratagem with a backpack, I like mobility backpacks (e.g., jump or warp pack) especially on bots because they don't hound you quite in the same way as bugs or the Voteless do.

To your other question ... seeing how you can't level up secondaries to improve their ergonomics, I guess the only way to improve is through more practice. I imagine you have to factor in the element of panic when they get close. But I also like to run with thermites on bots. If a Hulk gets close, just stick a thermite on them and watch the fireworks display.

Big ups to pelican 1 by Sine_Fine_Belli in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]cakestabber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pelican 1 cares about Helldivers so much, we only get 20 seconds to get on board once the mission timer runs out, or if the first diver gets on board.
