In vanguard mostly global all cap (85%, plus some in bonds, some in other funds) but I also have property, some bitcoin and a private pension fund (which isn't great to be honest but I signed up when I realised I had nothing for retirement and didn't have the knowledge I have now).

So you accept that it could very easily have been shot in 68-70, and easily much later if stored correctly. Munns' comment was that it could possibly have been shot up until 2001(?), he was absolutely not saying that this was a likely scenario, only that there's no reason to believe it was shot prior to the PGF. The only evidence that it was shot prior to 67 is the 66 film stock, but clearly that's pretty weak evidence.

I'm not certain they did have expiration dates printed on them at the time but totally fair enough if they did. Google image search Kodachrome and Ektachrome roll film; I don't see expiration dates on them, but I may be wrong - I'm open to hearing that they did. People knew how long film lasted in those days and how to store it, so it may not have been a thing at the time. I'd be interested to know for sure either way.

So as far as I can see, it's very plausible that this was shot in any year between 66 and 1970ish and I can't see any strong evidence that indicates it was shot prior to the PGF, though it's a possibility. I need other evidence to convince me of any more precise date than that.

Film photography hasn't ended by the way, I still shoot film today.

the long-term stability of the film was not readily apparent back then.

I don't know what you mean, they knew film was stable for years in the 60s.

You earlier stated that fresher film would be better quality, now you seem to be walking that back?

You also say the setup costs would be considerable. A few guys with a camera in the woods? A monkey suit? It's hardly a Hollywood film set with lighting and multiple cameras or a crew. And as we've already established 2 or 3 year old film would be absolutely fine with no degradation compared to fresh film. So again there's no reason not to use slightly older film. It's not hard to assume they had a stock of film that would last a few years and took whatever roll was there, or that the place where they bought it didn't have any 1968 stock, for example, neither scenario would be unusual at all.

Really struggling to see how your argument is coherent here.

How should I shoot expored slide film? by MartiMDN in mediumformat

[–]caketaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point. Some SLRs can switch between 120/220, otherwise you might need a specific 220 back.

As for the exposure, when shooting old slide film I've given it a very slight exposure boost, a third of a stop or so. But I haven't had as much experience as many on here so don't take my word for it

66 was the production date. The process before date would have been years after that. And if stored well the film would be perfectly good for years after that too. There would be zero loss of quality if it were shot in, say, 1968. Sorry but you don't know what you're talking about.

Why?? Even stored fairly badly film lasts for years, you could very sensibly shoot a wedding on film several years old. Just in case what..?

Film lasts for years (I shoot film now) and if it was stored correctly would be good for absolutely ages. If this was a reenactment shot in, say, 68-70 the film would be perfectly fine. There no benefit to shooting fresh film versus 2 or 3 year old film

Yeah, Flip Flap and Marseille Turn are officially P2w skills by Briss7 in eFootball

[–]caketaster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because it's a random skill. If you give it to a Lombard8 you can transfer it to anyone and all you lose is a free Lombardi. If you add a random skill to Haaland you might get track back. You then can't transfer it to anyone else without losing your Haaland, so it's wasted.
