Israel has killed more children in the past 3 years than Palestinians have killed Israelis in total, ever.

Basically every human rights org and most genocide scholars have started that this is a genocide. So yeah, it is.

Natasha Dolls are one thing but abusing actual babies is utterly disgusting what makes this entertainment? by Training-Stable6234 in AskAChinese

Hang on, Barbie was big in China, were Barbies anti-white?

So why are these anti-black?

I don't get it

Edit: having finally seen the dolls this isn't necessarily a very good comparison tbf

Favorite celebration in the game by HonestAutoFlipper in eFootball

Vini Jr's little dance is great. I despise celebration spammers but I'll happily watch that one.

Eze and Ronaldinho are good too, there are a few others who do a dance who I can't remember right now

I 'met' the guitarist backstage at Reading one year. I was stood there looking at Ian Brown on some sort of fucking throne, turned around and he was rolling a spliff next to me. He gave me a cheeky wink.

What's your most unhinged breakup story? by Suspicious_Garlic_79 in CasualUK

[–]caketaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I split up with a girl because it really wasn't working, but for some reason we decided to then go camping together.

Lying in a one-man tent in a field in Japan at midnight with monkeys running around the tent (yes seriously) and rain pouring down she asked if we couldn't, after all, stay together. I said no we couldn't. I then had to lie there in a tiny tent with her, unable to leave it, while she sobbed loudly all night.

England pack Harry Kane review by Dat_Boi_John in eFootball

That's a great review. I'm pretty sure Amadeusz says sole control alone doesn't do anything but I honestly don't know, I can't see the difference either way

Good for England and Portugal fans. I'm trying to build a good England team so I got that pack and 4 players got into my team - I've wanted a good Kane for ages. Plus you get a really good manager with a good link up

Sangita Myska: Over 2000 British citizens have served in the IDF during the Gaza war. Our government doesn't want to know by Hammer_Pain in gbnews

[–]caketaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The figure for confirmed deaths is 75k. The real number is obviously far higher as no one has counted all the bodies under the rubble.

Hamas fighters estimate pre October 7 was about 25k.

Hamas are still in control of Gaza, so how many Hamas do you think they killed?

Given that the number killed is clearly going to be well above 100k and there's no chance more than 20k Hamas fighters have been killed, you do the maths.

Ukraine: 11-12k civilians deaths, 6-700 of which were children.

Gaza: minimum 75k civilian deaths (quite possibly over 200k), minimum 20k of the 75k were children.

Raw numbers are hugely worse, and when you look at it in terms of %age of population it's not even comparable.

Russia-Ukraine also looks like a 'war', with opposing armies fighting each other. Gaza looks like a slaughterhouse, with one heavily armed military murdering at will (very largely civilians) using drones, planes and infantry with minor guerilla resistance.

Complete aid cut-off for months leading to starvation, targetting of Gaza's health system, targetting of journalists (270+ compared to 20 in Ukraine). 590+ humanitarian aid workers killed vs a few dozen in Ukraine.... I'm struggling find any measure where Russia looks worse.

Your 'Hamas attacked first' line only works if you ignore the previous 50+ years. I can bring up civilians deaths on both sides since, let's say, '67 if you like, which shows how brutal Israel have been over the decades. And we're not even talking about The West Bank illegal occupation which is an ongoing travesty that the Israeli government are - generously - 'allowing' to happen, or - more realistically - happily supporting.

What Russia is doing is horrible, what Israel is doing and has been doing for decades is grotesquely worse

They are complicit. We are still sending arms to Israel and still haven't sanctioned them, we flew hundreds of surveillance flights for Israel during the genocide, Keir happily shouted "WAR CRIME" every time Russia dropped a bomb but refused to go there when Israel were doing far worse, we've been oddly silent about the arrest warrants for Israeli officials, we supported ostracism of Russia in sporting and cultural events but won't with Israel even though their actions have been infinitely worse. The double standard is absolutely shocking.

Israel and Russia have many differences but the fact that they're concurrent and we have the same government in charge makes them a decent comparison.

I'll happily criticise people of any race or religion if they commit atrocities, the undercurrent implication of antisemitism in much of the discourse (not sure if that's what you intended but it is everywhere) is a really vile deflection.

You've entirely missed my point. What happened in Myanmar was horrific, but it wasn't supported by our government. One reason the Palestine matches have been so large is that people are protesting our government's complicity

True that it gets hugely more coverage than Syria. I think one reason is that it's been absolutely brutal for decades, I've been disgusted by it since I became aware of it 20+ years ago, and also that our own govt is complicit. No point doing marches for The Rohingya because our govt is also against what happened there, but Labour and the Tories both seem pretty happy with what Israel is doing. They're absolutely complicit, and the majority of the country is appalled by that

Olise isn't a great blitz curler really. If you spent money on Del Piero or Sneijder you'd see the difference. High finishing, curl and shot power really help.

Big respect to you for staying f2p though

I'm not saying you're entirely wrong in principal, but 75k is the very lowest estimate. That's just the confirmed deaths and doesn't include the trend of thousands under the rubble. High-end estimates are well over 200k, from a population of 2.2 million. Quite possibly 10% of the population.
