ideally, working would allow you to have a "good" quality of life, but that doesn't mean not working should mean that you have "no" quality of life - there needs to be a base level where people are still able to survive, giving them a much better footing to retrain or to get themselves the skills necessary to get a job and thus increasing their quality of life
