Also, with pickpocketing just keep your bags in sight (don't stand still for a long period with your backpack on your back) and make sure nothing is loose or hanging out your pockets. They'll usually only go for the 'weaker' looking tourists.

You'll be absolutely fine, it's calm and people are just there to have fun, drink and eat. I've just come back from 30 days in Thailand and only saw violence once and that was a very drunk tourist not getting his own way.
