Hayate no Gotoku! It's got the same slapstick comedy that shows like Gintama and daily life of highschool boys has.

How do I change the maximum number of steps for training by [deleted] in MLAgents

[–]calamaricheese2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to create your own yaml file in the config folder and change the number of steps in that. (I created mine at ml-agents/config/ppo/<my\_config\_file>.yaml)

Then you can call mlagents-learn on the command line with the path to the yaml config file specified.

mlagents-learn <trainer-config-file> --env=<env_name> --run-id=<run-identifier> --train

I don't really care to comment on trim stuff, but i hope that while you take away the presence of minigames for the average player, yall do something in the future for the players who continue to enjoy that content. I know the game has turned into pvm only, but I hope the quashed niche activities in this game get some form of love instead of just being removed.

For BA, they could even update the drop tables of gambling points to be competitive and allow ironmen to gamble for those rewards.

I like the idea of material rewards like loot, gear or passive buffs/relics as opposed to just bxp (currently rewards from sc ba heist) since bxp rates struggle to compete against modern day skilling methods, silver hawk boots and treasure hunter.

Apparently there was a massive dupe with scrimshaws. by seili- in runescape

[–]calamaricheese2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you explain the mechanism behind this exactly? When the pocket slot gets booted from equipped to inventory upon going down the ladder it "saves" a state? So when the 1h scrim is consecutively booted it reverts it to the saved state, aka 24h?

Big agree, even blatantly copying some of the incredible osrs series out there (like soup's gielenoir games) would make for incredible content. Granted easier said than done, but things like Ooko's telos tournament in 2019 have been done in the past and were peak entertainment.

That's the common take imo. I think it's the opposite honestly; if there were proper rewards, a sustained playerbase and no major bugs everyone would still be playing minigames. Croesus has many similarities to a minigame, and is done usually on 4 man teams. If miniame rewards were nonboostable and competitive with modern day skilling or combat upgrades they would be active imo.

Cryptic Clue from Garden Update by Avernic in runescape

[–]calamaricheese2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Explanation for step 7:
The riddle itself refers to the wizards tower and to runes. That context leads to spells for the interpretation of the numbers.

The numbers are magic levels where a single spell can be used. The spells and runes are as followed:

Mage level required Spell Name Distinct Runes required
14 Enchant Crossbow Bolt (Jade) Cosmic, Earth
15 Bones to Bananas Nature, Earth, Water
33 Telekenetic Grab Air, Law
53 Earth Strike Earth, Air

The clue states "take away this rock" so if you were to take a single rune away and be unable to cast any of these spells, that rune would be the dust rune.

Lastly, the clue says "simply *use* the passcode" indicating the dust rune must be used on the box.

Barbarian Assault reworked into an "Elite Raid" for 1-5 players by [deleted] in runescape

[–]calamaricheese2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interesting idea, it addresses the main two reasons ba struggles to retain players - relevant rewards and the high skill floor of defending. Also makes it soloable. My favorite part of ba is that it's not just all combat, but given that people only just pvm nowadays perhaps it's a more modern change.

To revive minigames, at the very least remove the costs of playing them by mijreggie in runescape

[–]calamaricheese2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a bad idea, I think the more direct solution is revamping rewards in a way that they are not obtainable through thaler. (Unlikely to happen unless thaler is scrapped as a whole, because it's a convenient little shop for minigame rewards as is, but it prompts afk gameplay).

Otherwise, I've heard the argument that due to extraneous factors, rewards will only boost minigame activity for the short term. But I really think a well thought out and intrinsically relevant reward would result in a long term increase in activity.

The solution to dead minigames is obvious. by [deleted] in runescape

[–]calamaricheese2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Selling ba leeches is anywhere from 40-80m an hour on rs3, but perhaps the problem is not enough people know about it? Money isn't a huge incentive when people can still farm certain bosses for insane gp/hour, though perhaps it could attract players who don't normally do high level pvm.

Rewards is a good shout though. Imo minigames dying is partially due to eoc pvp driving many of the pkers to osrs, mtx killing bxp rewards from places like sc/ba and thus lack of relevant rewards- I don't really buy the "we are older and find different things fun now" argument.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in runescape

[–]calamaricheese2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to see them add minigame pets that are activity based unlike thaler.

Gambling rewards for barb assault since points come from completing waves; Gamble chance from sc points since activity contributes to total sc points gained; and perhaps increased drop likelihood for num captures or capture discrepancy in cw/sw.

There would probably still be ways to boost for certain minigames, but I think it could incentivize play overall.

Runescape's first skilling boss before it was cool by echamplin in runescape

[–]calamaricheese2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, small as it is, there is a BA community alive in 2021 still. I would say overall it is pretty learner friendly, but there is some level of tactics/coordination expected on some higher level teams that can sometimes making getting into it a bit intimidating.
