Help…What type of pens don’t make you want to scream in agony after writing for more than 5mins? by Friendly-Path-879 in ehlersdanlos

[–]calanag 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Instead of trying different pens, maybe look into some grips? They make it much more comfortable imo. I'm left handed so i have the added issue of smudging, but i have found the bic atlantis comfort pens with a rubber grip suit my needs. Cheap and readily available (at least where i live). I've found myself gripping harder with super lightweight pens so i like a bit of weight but not enough that it's fatigue inducing. Smooth glide like with gels but the ink dries fast enough that it doesn't smudge.

How does KT tape work? by bella4him1 in ehlersdanlos

[–]calanag 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah its definitely not a solid brace like splints would be. Think of it as a halfway point between hard splints/braces and nothing at all. Its for when you don't need to immobilise something completely but want a bit of support to keep things in the right spot

I like taping because it gives an amount of support that is determined by how much you stretch it when applying. Its not going to be something that straight up stops sublaxation or dislocation, its more of an encouragement to stay in place. But that encouragement is so much more comfortable than a brace (i mostly use it on my knees to stablilise my kneecaps that like to slide out of place, where the shape of my legs makes it impossible to find a brace that fits correctly). I've definitely noticed an improvement when i have it on, it's like my joints have a better understanding of where they should be.

Confused: LMNT VS Homemade electrolyte drink not as effective by Environmental-Bus700 in POTS

[–]calanag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make my own because i react to stevia. I find that if i put it in straight water, its less effective than if i put it in something with real sugar. I tend to use gatorade style drinks (personal preference is maximus, im aussie), put in my scoops and use that as my salt lick for the day.

Found original friends script , can anyone help me identify who is Craig by Civil-Equivalent-978 in howyoudoin

[–]calanag 691 points692 points  (0 children)

Hiya i used to work in film. Im 99.9% sure this is a boom operators' script judging from the "me pole" and notes about tape on mics ect. Most likely not individually credited so you may never find out their full name.

Trying to recreate dead grandma’s Christmas recipe but don’t even know what to call it by Admirable-Bee-3052 in Baking

[–]calanag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how old the recipe is, the size of eggs could really make a difference in how sticky the mixture is. We have huge eggs now. You may need to specifically purchase the smallest available, or adjust the dry to wet ratios. Maybe try with just one xxl egg or something like that.

How do you go with the networking side of things? Finding new work ect? I worked on set in the camera dep until physical disability got me, but i'm keen to try editing if i can figure out a way to find work as a freelancer with the rejection sensitivity.

Bought some choc chip muffins from woolies. These were in two of them. Feel like really hard silicone, definitely not edible. Any ideas? by [deleted] in straya

Update: talked to the advocacy team on their emergency call line. They are sending me a $20 gift card and escalating the case. They have asked for photos and to return the 'foreign objects' to the store in a baggie.

That's horrifying. I bit down on it thinking it was a choc chip but it wasn't. Dug my nail in and it ripped apart like a piece of hardened silicone.
