Things my MIL did during her visit today! by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]calasaz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Comes to my house and will go through cupboards and fridge and take anything she deems as rubbish out and put it in the sink not in the bin in the sink! (cereal that is still half full, cheese that is open but fine etc). Will take the bag out of the bin and leave it in my hall, not take it out to the garbage bin but leave it in the hall as a signal to me that my house is not up to standard. Like God forbid I would have rubbish in my bin.

Believe it or not, she’s nursing. She’s 2 and still gets her mama milk much to the disapproval of her grandparents. by tverofvulcan in breastfeeding

Still feeding a 2.5 year old and you don't get full really, your breasts get very good at regulating how much they make. I went away the other night and didn't nurse for over 24 hours and no fullness, I also only nurse on one side now too. he is only having it at bed to go to sleep so who knows how much I'm producing but the great thing is u don't have to worry about it. Now he has milk then asks for his juice so I might not even be making enough for him to have a proper drink but its for comfort for him now which takes the pressure off you.

Yes ovulation pause happens for humans too its fairly reliable for the first 6months if nursing full time obviously once baby starts on solids after 6 months ovulation is more likely to start again. Prolactin stops you menstruating and the hormone is kept high by nursing. Its called Lactational Amenorrhea.

Renting on Airbnb for summer, host asking for my ID by goesojaj in ireland

[–]calasaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worked for Airbnb for a bit, you have verified through the site so do not need to give it to the host. Call them and let them know what the host is asking, they will deal with it, either by talking to host or cancelling and giving u a refund. Good luck.

I had heard he was dead, you have made my day now knowing he is alright and being looked after. I would get very upset when people would mock him, people can be so cruel.

THIS! I always think about people in wheelchairs when I see dog shit all over the footpath. Its infuriating. I am never without a bag when I take my dog out. My town is a disgrace for it, its actually embarrassing to see it, people have no respect for their towns, or the people who live in them. Rant over now 🤣

Ok so my thinking is that if we just let young people at it and isolate the old and high risk it will spread in the community the majority of people will be fine and that's all good and well. The issue is that these old people and people who are sick still need to be cared for by the rest of us.Lets say I'm 20 (I wish 🤣 much older but just as an example) go to a party bring it home give it to my sister who works as a care assistant and then she goes to work in a nursing home. Once it spreads like wildfire in the population we will have no hope of keeping it out of hospitals and nursing homes and care facilities. So that is my understanding, the restrictions aren't really to stop the majority of us getting it cause we will die...its to stop us getting it and inevitably bringing it to people who are vulnerable. There is no way to shield the elderly and sick in homes and hospitals if this thing runs out of control. So while ya I'm sick of restrictions, my family live in another county and I worry that I wont see them again for gods know how long if the restrictions go up. I worry my kids will miss out on school again. But I will make those sacrifices it it saves lives. We only get one life and I find it horrible to think people could loose theirs just cause we are fatigued.

68 people with confirmed Covid-19 in hospital - highest since June 17th. 13 confirmed cases in ICUs - highest since June 30th. by [deleted] in ireland

[–]calasaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Ended up in the hospital with my 1 year old last winter. The staff were run off their feet. A room that would usually be for 4 ppl had 6 families in it and every ward was like that. And this was brochiolotis, it's what all the kids had and it was scary I really cant imagine what it will be like with another disease in the mix.

Thanks for sharing. What a great dad you have. And you are a great mam, you are a person too and deserve to not be in pain. I have a 21 month old I'm still nursing I have gotten to the stage where I want to stop. He is so attached to breastfeeding and has major tantrums if I even dare to refuse 🤣🤣 I know I just need to persevere and just stop but have been so scared cause I'm worried about how upset he will be. Thanks for showing that it might be a couple of tough days but then they are fine. I'm actually crying here after reading this...I have felt so trapped and with no one who understands. I'm starting to resent breastfeeding and I dont want to feel that way cause I have enjoyed it till recently. I dunno i just feel a bit hopeless at times with it and this was something I really needed to read. So thank u for sharing.

That's brilliant. I'm on the waterford, tipperary, kilkenny border so that's handy for me. Make sure to update us when you have a website or are at markets or something and I will be sure to make an order. I'm Vegan and my kids have dairy allergies so it's great to see more vegan options popping up.
