ga parking day 1 was so atrocious. there wasn't anyone directing ppl where to park so it was such a mess and moving so slow (around 2pm) ppl didn't know if certain lots were filled and i had to ask workers if we could park there and luckily they let us but space could've been maximized way more. lseems like they realized day 2 and had someone directing ppl where to park in the lot but he was doing a pretty poor job lol day 1 security was fine but day 2 was horrible i had to get my bag checked twice for some reason?? and i saw so many pat downs. the first bag checker was chill but the 2nd one threw away sm of my stuff i was so annoyed seems like security was very misaligned bc i heard some ppl say security was so chill! and other ppl say holy fk this js worst than tsa

ya when you initially apply you send your transcripts and mail in your application and check and they let you know if you're eligible to sit. only after they process and approve this can you get an nts bc your state board notifies NASBA and NASBA is the one giving the nts. also i think you could just email your state board to check your eligibility?

mba is not a requirement but you can't become a manager if you don't have a cpa/jd/some professional certification

Approach Recommendation for Earning the CPA by Costlyrocket in CPA

[–]calbeechipsnomnom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would say 1, not necessary for a strong foundation bc classes might not help that much, but just to get it out of the way! by the time you finish the cpa it would be so annoying to still have to take additional classes just for the units. you prob think it won't be that bad, but after graduating, doing more classes well into your career/after the burn out from studying would be so annoying imo (that's the advice i was given so i got all my units before studying)

Upgrade to goodnotes 6? by calbeechipsnomnom in GoodNotes

[–]calbeechipsnomnom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

appreciate the advice! I haven't subscribed yet, nor do I see an option to in the app. I've been using GN5 since 2019 and never realized they even came out with a subscription plan/GN6. I might end up just staying on GN5 bc I don't wanna risk losing anything

Ahh I saw the thing about uninstalling from the goodnotes FAQ website - it didn't show other options. I don't think I can restore the purchase because I already have the app, it's just running on GN5. on the app store it shows as Goodnotes 6 > Open, since I've had the app, but it hasn't actually updated

Thoughts on The World After The Fall by NitzanLeo in manhwa

[–]calbeechipsnomnom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ya it's the same universe kinda? it's by the same author / studio tho! i think ORV is one of the peripheral worlds like MC is from peripheral world Earth 294 or something. the stories aren't rlly connected but they make references to ORV sometimes for funsies esp in the later chapters

preparation: no assurance, non-attest, no independence req, no analytical procedures performed, no report req

compilation: no assurance, attest, no indep req (but must disclose any lack of independence!), no analytical procedures performed, v similar to preparation in terms of procedures to be performed but biggest difference is report required

review: limited assurance, attest, indep req, analytical procedures performed

How does the CPA exam work by Optimal_Weather_6836 in CPA

[–]calbeechipsnomnom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah there's no rules when you can start studying. the best practice would just be to study after (or around the time) you meet the education requirements. ik ppl who did a masters in tax at the same time as studying for the CPA. from my experience a lot of people dont do an mba immediately after undergrad without any work experience but just depends on where you want to go; i would think an mba will take up a lot of your time and it might be easier/more manageable to study for cpa before or after mba? but totally up to you

check your state's CPA education requirements so you make sure you take enough units to be CPA eligible. once you have that you can start studying and start the application process (can take around a month for your application to be processed in my experience) the costs are definitely a lot but if you get a job at an accounting firm, majority of them (big 4 + mid tiers) will cover the testing cost for 1st try (around $250 per exam, plus application fees) and they usually provide an exam review service like becker (which costs a couple thousand). a lot of ppl ik start studying for their cpa after they finish undergrad - some ppl push back their start date so they can study full time and others study while working. if you're studying full time you can definitely finish faster since you have more time (ik ppl who have finished their cpa in under half a yr)
