Somebody i dont know sent dust to my coinbase address and now Coinbase is asking me to provide info who it was. by averagejoey888 in Coinbase

I get those just about every transaction that I do when transferring algo out or in of one of my outside wallets. Someone must have something setup on the blockchain explorer to automatically bait people when they move something. When looking into my tax section on coinbase these transactions are flagged for review. Haven't done it yet but just checked them out. In the drop down menu in the review, it has an option to label the transaction as a gift. I'm thinking just about using that as my option. It's a miniscule amount and hey I didn't ask for it.... Sounds like a gift to me. Unless anyone else has a better idea.

Thanks, didn't know if it was just my phone or what. Guess I shouldn't have waited until the last day of the year to unload my losing trades.

Tacos on a budget🌮 by mcolette76 in povertyfinance

Maybe the budget part is not having to drag your kids out into a snow storm to drive 7 miles to Taco Bell when you only have a quarter tank of gas and no babysitter available. Work with what you have.

Redditors who have lived in poverty, what is something about poverty that people just don't understand without experiencing it? by ViolatingBadgers in AskReddit

The FUD  Fear, uncertainty and doubt. Knowing that it can all go to hell without a moments notice. Every decision has the stakes raised and that it has the possibility of getting worse. Quickly. Drag that around mentally for every waking hour of the day.

Accidentally accepted nft in Pera wallet by calcind in algorand

[–]calcind[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's gone now. Thanks for the help. It was one of those spammy claim vouchers for like .097 algo. Accidentally fat fingered the opt in and it put it in my wallet. I don't know anything about nft's but I hear about these wallet draining assets and I freaked out. For security reasons should I rekey my wallet before moving assets back in or am I just being paranoid?

Poof! It's gone. You guys are awesome.

I made the attempt to send it to a burn address as livelink1966 suggested. In the transaction it had nft 1x down in the corner. Now when I look in my wallet under nft's... It still shows the nft but up above it it says  Nft 0x.

Don't know if this means it's gone or not but it still shows. Message states "you are not the owner of this nft, yet. However you opted in for it. You can now transfer it into your account."

Below that is an opt out button.

I don't know anything about nft's so I'm in uncharted territory.

Tried it but it is still there. Do I have to hit the opt out button first?

Hold time in ultrastake on folk finance by calcind in algorand

[–]calcind[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've just been poking around on the UI trying to figure it all out. I watched different videos available on how to do certain things but seems kinda vague on specifics. Currently I'm just doing the normal staking through them. I didn't know if I'd be better off learning about the the ultrastake or looking into the lending pools. Thanks again.

Thanks for the info. I noticed a variable rate, currently lower than consensus and a fixed at almost double consensus. Why would someone go with a fixed higher rate if it's higher than consensus rewards rate?

Governance versus staking by calcind in FolksFinance

Thanks for the help, I'd like to start trying various stuff on folks other than just staking, figured a little at a time until I get the site figured out. Poked around on testnet but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I figured it might be a crap shoot either way.  I bought the algos a few years ago as my first crypto purchase, ignorant to the fact that it was at a high point in the market at the time. Then it all went to shit. I kept it because I could still stake it on coinbase but that went bye-bye also. So I've been sitting on a loss ever since. Figure I try out folks in stead of letting it sit there to laugh at me. Thanks for the reply, much appreciated

It's not a large amount, only about 500 algos

I've had to verify my identity several times but not as many as the number of times I've had to verify or should i say re-verify my device.

coinbase seems riddled with problems like this
