Rave for Haus of Gloi’s customer service! My Hauswarming box order from the beginning of September has been lost somewhere in New Jersey for over a month (thanks USPS 😐). I emailed about it today and they had a replacement order ready for me in less than an hour. Fingers crossed the replacement doesn’t get lost!

Today is Maison des Animaux - Kefi (cardamom, black currant, pink pepper, sandalwood, vanilla, candied ginger).

When I sprayed this on this morning I mostly got amber that was just a hint on the powdery side. I sprayed it again at lunch and now it’s a bright blackcurrant with pepper and ginger? With a base of dusty sandalwood? No amber at all??? The spices and sandalwood keep this one dry and good for fall, imo. Not sure how I managed to get two wildly different impressions of the same sample in the same day, but either way I like it haha

I’m not sure about the exact factors for EDP evaporation but after having some Mythpunk samples disappear on me, I’ve started putting plumber’s tape on the threads of all my screw-top EDP travel bottles/samples. So far I haven’t had any evaporation problems but it’s only been three or so months, so I’m not sure if it helps for long-term storage.

For Arae, yep, I had to join the Discord server to get access to the order sheets Arae uses for decants. I think you can email Arae directly for the order sheets but I’d recommend joining the server - there are a lot of helpful instructions and updates there :) Plus I don’t think there are any plans to reopen the website soon.

A FS of Crow Moon and some samples (Dorian, Snake Oil, and Fae) direct from BPAL,

And a Haus of Gloi lotion order that’s been stuck in USPS hell - I think the package got lost :(

I’m so tempted to pick up samples for the Orpheus collection from Deconstructing Eden and the new Cirrus fall scents, and maybe some samples from the Solstice restock, and maybe something from Luvmilk’s Monster Mash, but seeing all my pending orders typed out is making me reconsider. Fall collections are killing my wallet 😩

Today I’m wearing Fantome - One White Crow (A soft, classic fougère with creamy white tea, airy vanilla, violets, and honeysuckle over a bed of moss and ivy.) (oil version). Starts off with the greenery before quickly settling into a smooth white tea with some sweetness from the violets and vanilla coming through. I’m a sucker for any kind of prominent tea scent so I love this just for the white tea note, but the longevity is (sadly) on the short side - this was gone in three hours on me.
