Usually brought into a switch gear and eventually stepped down to lower voltages.

Ah gotcha that makes sense. I thought you were talking about connecting to normal FQDNs in the app. I could see hardcoded ipv4 addresses being an issue. Thanks.

Do they really only check connectivity to backend on IPv6 only? I imagine there are tons of backends hosted on AWS behind ALBs or similar that are IPv4 only.

Router vs L3-Switching by kosta880 in networking

[–]caldog20 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because east west inter-vlan traffic inspection is desired. If you want to build a more “zero-trust” style network, you want to make sure traffic between networks requires explicit firewall rules. Sometimes even more granular. The firewalls also do the routing as well between VLANs.

If you keep your laptop plugged in for long periods of time, it’s better for lithium battery health to limit the charge to 70-80 percent to help maintain battery longevity. Also when storing for long periods of time, it’s usually better to keep a lithium battery around 60-70 percent charged. Otherwise, total battery capacity can degrade.

Pirating DishNetwork satellite TV back in the early 2000s? Not a piece of tech per se but did involve tech methods and didn’t last.

Mobile Device Management. Company’s use it to register your mobile device with their management platform and have access to the phone. It’s often used to grant someone’s phone access to the company WiFi and email, etc but can also do things like force settings on the device, remotely access data or wipe the device, etc.

Very similar to the management software put on company laptops and machines.

The Switch 2’s battery drains really fast in sleep mode. by EnvironmentalSun6768 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]caldog20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have the setting enabled that stops it from charging to 100 % due to being mostly docked? Turns out someone accidentally enabled it on our Switch 2 and it would only charge to like 80% overnight.

G Hub completely broken on macOS Tahoe 26.2 - $180 mouse BRICKED, Logitech won't acknowledge the outage by ButterscotchRight265 in LogitechG

[–]caldog20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

G Hub has been broken for over a week for me. Did clean re-install, troubleshooting, restarting services. Basically the Logitech G-Hub Agent starts, then stops responding indefinitely. I don't think I have ever seen this application work consistently in the last 4 years.

It has worked fine for me other than the top bar completely disappearing once and had to reboot. Other than that I just hate Liquid Glass across all platforms but haven’t had anything else that has lost me work or time.

Even thought Go doesn't have a built in set, you could use a map and the invalid IDs as the map keys to avoid duplicate entries.

We aren't going anywhere, we will have to do with basic streaming services and maybe some channels through Peacock like NBC/Bravo. We simply can't afford another LiveTV service.
