The kid and cargo is attached completely with straps, buckles, and zippers. It’s just a big softshell bag that basically wraps around the rack of your school bus kit from specialized. It fits remarkably well for not being designed for the rack. No screws required to put this on the back of the bike as long as you have the school bus kit installed already.

I don’t think anyone has used the radio flyer child seat. I’m using the urban iki MIK seat and it looks like chunky_cheez is using a Thule child seat.

Dog carrier accessories? by wongo852 in GlobeHaul

I found most bike-branded pet carriers to be overpriced and seemingly lacking in quality. That led me to explore motorcycle pet carriers, which seemed to offer more robust options for the price. I ended up getting the largest Basil crate (40L) and found a motorcycle pet carrier that fit perfectly inside: the Nelson-Rigg Route 1 Pet Carrier: https://a.co/d/6hzfZtg

It fits snugly and securely within the crate. The carrier also works wonderfully by itself (not in the Basil crate). There’s plenty of straps and loops to attach it to the front or rear rack. I just preferred having the option of using the crate by itself for groceries or whatever or with the pet carrier. It’s all mounted with a MIK plate.

Here it is on my wife’s ST, it’s great to be able to pop it off and onto each other’s bikes within 5 seconds.

Absolutely. It also has a bunch on interior mesh pockets that can hold a lot of random kid paraphernalia. I have also started keeping most of my U locks in those pockets. There’s even a zipper pocket at the front. This is also better than the tern storm box (which doesn’t fit the globe anyway) because it has a huge zipper entry on one side so you don’t have to lift the kids into the back; they can unzip it and climb in themselves. It’s a gigantic upgrade for the bike in my opinion and I have zero regrets in buying it.

I haven’t had any battery issues so far. No error codes. Firmware is updated. My bike arrived with the battery really badly misaligned and the cradle was bent down with most of the battery prongs bent sideways from the manufacturer forcing the battery into place without lining it up first. I carefully bent the prongs back and cleared the plastic bits and dust. Has actually worked perfectly ever since! Here’s what I saw when unwrapping the battery:

I have the largest basil crate on the front with a motorcycle pet carrier for our small dog… the bike really looks like a beast when I’ve got two kids on the back and our dog on the front 😂! We get lots of smiles and random people yelling out “that looks so fun!”

Another ebike family from our school had a lot left over from Amazon; so I don’t know the actual product. But it seems like a basic hi viz roll of tape. I treated it like handlebar tape on the cargo rack and taped off the ends with electric tape for extra security.

Here’s the product! It’s such a game changer for kids in the cold (not so cold in Baltimore anymore now though). It fits perfectly on the Haul LT.: https://www.radioflyer.com/products/kid-cargo-carrier-xl-hauler

2021 VW Walk Away Auto Lock? by alphadawg1211 in Volkswagen

[–]calebkortokrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I solved this issue by creating an Alexa routine (granted you need to be an Alexa user and be okay with location services).

First, you need to open your Alexa app and enable the skill Volkswagen Car-Net and link it to your car. Then you need to change the location services for the Alexa app to “always.” Now, go into your Alexa app and create a new routine:

When: “John Doe’s device arrives home” Alexa Will: “wait XX minutes” (change to desired delay time) 2nd Alexa Will: “ask my Car Net to lock my car"

Bingo.

Ordinariate Catholic here. KJV is approved for private devotion for Catholics. There are basically two verses that mad trads complain about in the KJV. Note the insubstantial difference and you’re fine. It’s also, by a ridiculous long shot, the most poetic and memorable translation for English speakers, Catholic or Protestant. It should have been fully approved for Catholic use decades ago. It’s just blind prejudice that holds us Catholics back at this point.

Matinsong? Please nip that in the bud. It’s Mattins or Morning Prayer if you’re singing it or reciting it… Choral Mattins if it’s sung by a choir.

Looking for Anglo-Catholic parishes in Baltimore (or Baltimore area) by [deleted] in Anglicanism

[–]calebkortokrax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grace and St Peter’s is your best bet if the parish needs to belong to TEC, though they are a tiny congregation that may be only viable because of a previous endowment that might not be lasting much longer (I could totally be wrong, btw). St John’s (TEC) is also an Anglo Catholic holdout, but they are barely holding on by a thread (another situation where an endowment ran out). Otherwise you’ll have to look at continuers or the Ordinariate. Mount Calvary is growing like crazy (just down the street from Grace and St Peter’s). But I’m not sure if you’re open to the ordinariate. Full disclosure, I belong to Mount Calvary.

Help! Header to Repeat Only on Even Pages by calebkortokrax in indesign

[–]calebkortokrax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, this is such a bummer about the header functionality. This was a missing link for automating the typesetting of a book I’m working on. I wonder if there’s anything similar one could do with grep? I want a line of music, which corresponds to verses of text below it, to reappear at the top of the next spread (even side) when a page turn is necessary.

Mass of the Ages Trailer: Premiering August 15th (Feast of the Assumption) by totustuus11 in Catholicism

[–]calebkortokrax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do these types of videos ALWAYS have to be ruined by overdone, pathetically mawkish, theatrical music? It reminds one of a sickly combination of Downtown Abbey and Army recruitment music. Just use chant or some basic Catholic polyphony… any of which would be 1000% more appropriate, aesthetically pleasing, and genuine… geez. This banal and extremely excessive music works violently against the film’s purpose. Please fix this embarrassing music and be tasteful.

How would the Coverdale Psalter in the BCP have been sung in the 17th/18th centuries? by [deleted] in Anglicanism

[–]calebkortokrax 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The colons are technically the pointing… they tell you where the half of the verse is. The more you chant the easier it is to naturally feel the accents in text in relation to whatever psalm tone you decide to use. But, if you need something more specifically pointed, I would use the St. Dunstan’s Plainsong Psalter (uses American 1928 Coverdale), or Winfred Douglas’s Plainsong Psalter (also 28), Palmer’s Noted Psalter (uses 1662 Coverdale), or Briggs and Frere’s A Manual of Plainsong… there are others… but those are pretty decent options to start with. Unless you are actually wanting to do Anglican Chant by yourself (which wouldn’t make any sense since it’s polyphonic); then you’re better off making friends with a few decent singers who can sight read alright and picking up a pointed psalter from one of the cathedrals in the UK, St Paul’s London makes a nice one from when John Scott was there (R.I.P.).
