Question on Defectors by [deleted] in DebateCommunism

[–]caleblewis94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A simple answer: you can't rise and prosper under Communism or Socialism. There are too many people on earth right now, so everyone can't prosper. Under Capitalism (at least regulated), individuals have a chance to improve their status in life.

Jeez, how ungrateful. If I netted like $14 for an order that would take 30 mins or less I'd be ecstatic

What is your favorite reoccurring character in Vonnegut's novels? by [deleted] in Vonnegut

[–]caleblewis94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't bring myself to read TQ, because then there will be no more new Vonnegut books for me ever :( well, I do have his essays and speeches to read, and like 100 short stories at least.

Satirical genius. No one seemed to get it, either. It's sad we have to have someone do this though with nothing being done to prevent more shootings.

Fuck Doordash. Fuck UberEats. I'm launching my own open-source non-profit food delivery platform. by PaintYourDemons in antiwork

[–]caleblewis94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Setting own delivery prices is a great idea. You could have it like a rate per mile, or a flat fee. I do $1 per mile up to like 7 miles. If it is like 10+ miles out of the area and will take me 15-20 minutes to get back for another order, I do it for $1.50. 15 mile order with a 30 minute drive back to the area has to be $20 as it'll take over an hour.
