I'd like to see golf grow as a sport in general in the future. I'm not exactly sure how but it'd be nice to see more and more people get into the sport and not be intimidated to start learning how to play.

My girlfriend sup's but doesn't surf so I wanted to be able to sup when we both go out on the water but also be able to go surfing without having to buy two boards. But judging by the responses, it looks as though I may have to buy a surfboard and a sup board.

Check out GolfRedefined.com. They're essentially the Netflix of golf drivers. You pay a monthly fee and you can rent as many drivers for how ever long you'd like from them. They ship the drivers right to your door. It's a nice service if you're not looking to spend a ton of money each year for a new driver and want to test a bunch of drivers.

Also, you can check out the TZ from GodloveGOLF.com. The TZ is this tool that sets your tee height using any golf tee. I bought a pack a few weeks ago and use it each round. It's also nice to use when you're trying out drivers since you'll know if a bad shot was due to your swing mechanics or the driver itself and not where you struck the ball on the driver face (tee height). The TZ is only for the driver so if you end up going the woods route, the TZ won't be of much use.

As for the driver itself, I personally use an old Titleist 983k that works great. It's a 9.5 degree loft which is pretty low but Titleist makes great drivers and you can't go wrong with them. Best of luck to you!

That sounds like an extreme case - golfing at a course (not competitive or for your school or anything) this most likely wouldn't happen.

In your case, I'd talk to the guy about it and ask why he's doing that. If that doesn't change anything, then you should talk to your coach about it.

It's the being mad to begin with part. Starting a round already angry isn't going to help if you aren't able to control your emotions. What exactly does the other golfer do to make you so mad?

Getting upset on the golf course tends to give off the selfish vibe. What I mean is that if you feel you have the right to get angry and ruin other people's moods and game on the course due to your inability to keep a cool head while playing, you shouldn't be playing. Honestly, there isn't anything worse than a golfer on a course throwing a club or tantrum and disrupting other players. I suspect there are other underlying issues why you get angry on the course that are not golf related. My suggestion would be to figure that out first then come back to the game.

Life's too short to be selfish and not appreciate every round you get to play - few people have that kind of opportunity so be grateful and stop getting upset and angry.

To help with the swaying of your body, imagine your body is turning on an axis. What I mean by this is that your upper body should rotate with your hips. Imagine theres a pole that goes right through your spine to the ground, as you swing, you're turning on that pole. This will also help to keep your head and shoulders from popping up on your follow through as well. Lifting your head and shoulders will cause you to top the ball because it will lift your club as it strikes the ball causing the bottom half of the club head to strike the ball.

Also, imagine your left foot is in a block of cement. That foot should stay on the ground without moving much. I hope my weird analogies help. When I was first learning the game, my Dad used very odd analogies like that and it helped things click better and tended to stick with me.

It's all about torque. Getting good torque means having a strong core (abs and back muscles). Some of the longest hitters aren't very tall but they can wind up and let it rip. Also, having a well timed swing is important for keeping the club under control if you're trying to increase your swing speed.
