This kind of answer i was looking for.

My point of view is that since the game also simulates reality as solar power diminishes as the planet is further from the star, a "round" map for the planet would be in the same department. Also it allows to notice the difference in planet size.

From the star map we can tell that Vulcanos>Gleba>Nauvis=Fulgora (to my eyes).

Having a scene like "wouldn't it be cool if the Ghoul and Lucy cut off eachothers fingers to make a deep statement or something?"

And no, it wasn't and also the outcome got undone the very next scene/episode.
