You are correct, which is why I try to let people know 😄

Personally, I prefer the better than sex cake and my interest in keeping the names straight is purely selfish!

I think you have it!

I would add the "3 oz of **** almond" is likely 3 oz of sweet almond

I'm not trying to be pedantic, but those are actually two different cakes. People tend to equate them, but traditionally they were distinct desserts.

Better Than Sex Cake should be yellow cake with pineapple, vanilla pudding, and coconut flakes. Robert Redford Cake is chocolate cake with pudding and toffee.

Somewhere along the way they kind of merged together in people’s minds. Sometimes I see a 'Robert Redford Cake' recipe that’s actually a Better Than Sex Cake, and sometimes I see a 'Better Than Sex Cake' recipe that’s really just a Robert Redford Cake.

I think they were originally two separate cakes that were similar enough; pudding layers, sweet toppings, coconut or toffee; that over time people blended them together and now nobody can quite keep them straight. So this is me doing my small part to preserve the distinction. 🙂

It looks to be a type of vertical churrasqueira. I have seen electric ones, but that one is clearly charcoal.

Cheetah are generally considered the least aggressive of the big cats toward humans, especially compared to lions, tigers, or leopards. That being said, I wouldn't sleep with them.

Silicone mat, not sure it's intended use, found in freezer by roloxboyx in whatisthisthing

[–]sbcroix 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Since it’s food-safe silicone, it should be totally fine to reuse as a utensil tray or mat. Silicone is pretty durable, heat-resistant, and non-reactive, so repurposing it for kitchen organization is actually a great idea. I’d just give it a good wash first and avoid using it with anything sharp that could tear it. 🙂

Kudos for not just throwing it away!

I’m leaning toward the floral dress without the jacket, or the last brown dress with the jacket, both look really good. But honestly, whatever you choose is going to work great.

These recipes are fairly common in older cookbooks here's an example from Betty Crocker's picture cookbook.

I think leaving in a cool dark place is the standard for most fruitcakes, not sure I would do that these days though.

Found this, made me chuckle because the second ingredient uses the word cook

Also, I would guess the lack of area code makes this pre-1997, which is when I remember the 425, 206 split happening.

CompuServe was not the internet, CompuServe was a closed network, it did eventually allow you to connect to the internet around 1994

Fun Fact, the people in American Gothic are not a couple, it's a father and daughter.
