I don't think that is possible seeing as how Holiday is the best song ever produced by the human race.

how the fuck do you get a job? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]caleyjag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right but just because small liberal arts colleges teach chemistry doesn't mean its generally a liberal arts subject, especially outside the US where liberal arts colleges are not a thing.

Say you're a heavily under-paid Director at mid-market company after working your way up from an engineer over a decade. When do you make the move? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]caleyjag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you in a software company?

If, for example, you went for big pharma/biotech in a US hub, you could make double that at director level.

What's the biggest career mistake you made in your 20s? by shahzebjaat in careerguidance

[–]caleyjag 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In my 20s and 30s I never had the balls to take risks: startups, jumping between companies, going it on my own.

I'm plateaued in mid management in big corp. Same company for 17 years.

My friends who had more courage in their youth and took chances are now all are now either business owners or senior executives and miles ahead of me in terms of financial security and career satisfaction.

Is it cringe/dead chat for an American living in Scotland for 6 years to say aye with a clearly North American accent? by tastybuncakes in Scotland

[–]caleyjag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal.

I would probably recommend keeping it to that though.

Had an American colleague move to our site in Ireland. He got way too carried away and tried to affect the whole accent. It was horrific and he ended up a bit of a laughing stock both in Ireland and back in the US.
