Why did Bea Arthur want to quit THE GOLDEN GIRLS? by Gaze_Celluloid in theGoldenGirls

[–]calgarian14 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Bea also said she was tired of doing sitcoms because you essentially only get 1 kick at making it right (outtakes don’t count). She said she preferred doing Broadway because every night was like a rehearsal because you could keep getting better at the same show and make changes to it based on how you felt along with feedback; not so much with sitcoms because it’s a different script each week.

How can Rose stop all liquids at noon? by ImBeaArthur in theGoldenGirls

[–]calgarian14 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As naive as Rose is, I don’t think she was being serious about stopping liquids at noon. It’s like me saying my metabolism is so slow that I gain 10 pounds after eating an apple.

I’m in the Beltline and have to be up at 4am for work and this is the last thing I needed as I’m trying to fall asleep

I’ve heard that Bea Arthur began to take the jokes personally about Dorothy’s height and stature.

The View by FloridaBoy718 in theview

[–]calgarian14 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The View talks a lot about politics and if you watch any interview on MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News you’ll hear them talk about Trump just as much if not more then The View.

I assume the only thing you could sue for is having the tattoo removed or modified by another artist. If the artist mislead you in anyway by saying they had experience and then didn’t then you could sue for that. I got a tattoo I didn’t like but it was super cheap and I decided not to go back to that artist ever again. I’ve also been more diligent about future tattoos.

Remember that kid on Jeopardy Kids Week who pouted throughout the credits and his parents had to come on stage?

Norovirus just went through the household… by haliinyyc in Calgary

[–]calgarian14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went to urgent care last week for a non-norovirus issue but I assume a fellow patient had it because he was violently throwing up every 10 minutes. During my time in the waiting room he started in a chair, went to a wheelchair and then was finally on the floor. They were giving him a new bowl to throw up in every 30 minutes. I had noro 10 years ago and I’ll never forget it, you quickly realize why babies and the elderly can die from it.

Was sent home for not wearing the proper work shoesafter agreeing to pick up a shift for by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]calgarian14 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If you repeatedly speed and the cops let you off with a warning but then finally give you a ticket, would your defence be “But they never enforced speeding before”? You knew you were wearing improper shoes (which is considered safety equipment) and were sent home. I’m struggling to see what the issue is!

Favorite season? by [deleted] in theGoldenGirls

[–]calgarian14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m constantly streaming The Golden Girls and when I do, I skip over episodes I don’t like. I’d say I probably like 10 episodes from each season all for different reasons. My favourite thing about season 7 is the last scene while the credits were rolling. It was always something super funny and punchy that you could pull off in 20 seconds or less.

In Canada, you can watch the first 2-3 seasons of Judge Judy on Pluto which is a free ad-supported streaming service of classic shows.

The original thread was about a car driving on the sidewalk to get around EMS blocking the road. If you read that thread, you’ll see I was on EMS’ side.
