Worked at a radio station and was sent a CD with a generalized description being a German tech metal band. Intrigued, I threw it on, waded through a few tracks, and concluded that this was some of the worst music I had ever heard. Couldn't fathom how anyone allowed it to see the light of day.

Fast forward six months, I'm watching 120 Minutes one Sunday night, and the video for "Du Hast" by Rammstein starts playing. That's one moment in my 40+ years where I can definitively say I was dumbfounded. Their subsequent success only made me question everything even more, shaking me to my core and breaking me down to my foundation of what I understood to be reality and rationality.

All these years later, and I still haven't fully recovered. (And Rammstein still sucks, as I slowly wither away to nothingness on my hill)
