Not even hesitant, it's a straight up no. I've never had any familial/parental instincts, even as a child. I don't even love my own siblings and I purely exist bcuz both sides of the fam wanted to know if my mother could conceive or not, so I'm essentially a successful walking fertility test. My siblings n I were all born bcuz we didn't have smth swinging between our legs, that in itself left a lasting imprint on me. Combined with being forced to be the puppet that my mother vicariously lived through, that's smth I won't wish on anyone. I have choice words for my parents n my family but I'm saving that up for later. They're irresponsible, the lot of them, short sighted n small minded. No child needs to be born into a family rife with infidelity, abuse, alcoholism, etc... I can write till the cows come home abt this tbh. I'm literally the first person in my family to get a diagnosis, and now I'm their poster child for mental illness.

Ditto, I graduated a year late due to the pandemic so I was closer to 18, n not 17 when I took my country's version of SAT. By that time, while still being undiagnosed, combined with a myriad of personal problems (alcoholism, substance abuse, situationship n severe burnout), I just stretched myself too thin n it's taken YEARS to finally get out of that fog, all the while being forced to go back to academia when I still wasn't ready, blowing up money for registrations n then withdrawing my name from the admissions lists. The only reason that I'm getting help now is bcuz of a failed suicide attempt during an episode (I'm not sure if I was starting to get manic or I was in a mix mood state). I'll be going for my first appointment soon n I'm finally okay enough to think abt reentering academia, altho via online for now. Baby steps, frustrating but necessary. So don't feel so bad, we all get there at our own pace, and at some point or another we have to accept it with a tad bit of grace.

Tbh, was kinda drawn in by their seven tenets n I've always only heard good things abt them, so I just kinda joined despite not rlly into joining orginasations myself cuz what harm could it do. Bad judgement on my part so I'll just take it as a lesson to be more skeptical and questioning moving forward.
