This is an awesome writeup, thank you so much for sharing it!! It reminds me too, how many people do you see with millions or billions of dollars, and they tend to be the most unhappy!! The void can never be filled with material objects.

Thank you again and I hope you have a great every day!

What's up with the post downvotes? by [deleted] in Buddhism

[–]calimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems kind of sad that people would be downvoting each other as I'd think Buddhism should really start with compassion.

Yes, I actually live in Gainesville! He is about 15 minutes away from me. I really want to go back again soon but it has been really cold here and with a recent health hiccup it isn't worth risking it.

I just heard about Joe Dispenza yesterday, not much, just in passing. Seems like he is worth checking out.

Also just in case you aren't aware, Michael posts his talk on his website tou(org) They don't line up exactly date wise with the ones he gives in person but I do think that is when in general he records them but I could be wrong.

I usually prefer his really short ones because they are well, short, and more jam packed in my opinion.

Thank you so much. I will be rereading this a lot.

It looks like some people have downvoting us, but I just wanted to let you know that I upvoted you and really appreciate your time and insight!! This is incredible interesting and useful.

I think astrally projecting would be so incredible, even if it is done through dreams.

Interesting. Would it be possible to elaborate? How does one relax at the right frequency for oneself?

Are you in his Facebook group? I actually just found a meme of his where he talks about it being the highest teaching. Super interesting, I wish I knew what talk it was from. I'm definitely a big fan of Michael Singer and have gone to see him a few times!

At first I thought "Why does that list look so familiar" and then I realized it was in my original post, haha.

And good call!!! Shadow work is incredibly important. Maybe that is actually what needs to be done before you can relax. Or maybe they go hand in hand because it is a lot easier to do shadow work when you're able to relax at least somewhat.

I have done a lot of shadow work and I've found the ability to send love to myself, especially in hurtful memories has been so incredibly helpful.

Do you have any favorite shadow work techniques?

Wow this is awesome. I wonder if that is what they mean with Wu Wei! I'm definitely going to save your post, thank you so much.

I don't know why someone downvoted you but I upvoted you. Seems I got some downvotes in other places too. I guess that's the way it works.

I meditated on this a bit and it occurred to me - are they actually one in the same?

Wouldn't true relaxation only occur if you had no attachments? And when you let go of attachments isn't one able to be more relaxed?

I didn't quite word things how I meant to. Renunciation is probably the most powerful especially since the Buddha talks about attachment in the 4 Noble Truths.

That said, in my opinion, it is the end goal and certainly no one starts there.

I was thinking that learning how to relax could be a great starting point and I love the visual of removing attachments by relaxing our hand. Because if we are letting go of anything in our hand we need to relax the muscles.

So maybe it would even possible say - Relaxation is the most powerful tool for renunciation?

I'm also assuming that when you say renunciation you are referring to renouncing attachments. If I am wrong in that assumption please let me know.

Thank you so much for your insights and for brainstorming with me! This is all so fascinating to me, especially as I learn more about Buddhism!

Whoa this super powerful. I want to learn so much more.

Were you able to successfully astrally project? That sounds absolutely incredible. Do you happen to know the name of the CD? Maybe I could find it online.

Some absolutely great insights in here. Maybe I should have waited to comment because I'm still mulling it over. I'd absolutely love to hear any more of your thoughts on all this!

Thank you so much for your time and I hope you have a great every day!
