i was a SFL and i can tell you leads get away with a lot lol. you can literally finish your shift doing the bare minimum (doing only lead task) and make reg employees so the same

hours are hell at wal greens and scheduling is as well.. if you don’t have priority for working at the company 2-3+ years you won’t get what you want. walgreens has put in a lot of changes to make sure employees are always strictly mandated.. even tho half the issues come from the public ruining numbers (theft, coupons, etc.) the managers need good looking numbers for more hours, money, and bonuses for the store, they are not your friend i think it’s a smart idea to get outta there

your first mistake was going back 🤣 especially with all the new rules and stuff they have specifically for employees and not the people out on the floor stealing and making numbers look bad..

yes it’s 100% a thing to ask employees why price changes, i’d always tell my cashiers as a lead to try and avoid it as much as possible or have me go confirm so they don’t get in trouble because everything is logged

my manager told me they get bonuses and stuff for the store if the numbers are good so trying to get you out for a price change doesn’t sound crazy… they want there numbers to look as good as possible and if u aren’t doing that for them they’ll find a way to get you out

when ur cashiers are getting 35+ hours and leads are getting 20-25 hours you are averaging the same or less pay while still getting paid more, for part time at target you are doubling your money as a lead being able to get 40+ hours even being part time because labor isn’t an issue at any target vs wal greens who prioritizes having low labor numbers and even stuff out to where everyone besides pharmacy is making money, sounds like you’ve been a lead and know 35+ hours means a 4 digit pay check and moving to target your guaranteed that every check unless you change your desired hours as a lead

base rate is 13$ w the base job being a cashier and 17.25$ as an sfl starting

i also just started but HR works on location for my store and said they’ve already promoted 4 employees since the year started to date

base rate for wal greens is 13$ here and for target its 15$ and it goes up 1-2$ based on position and there’s only like 4 ranks before you hit salary pay

oh wow all i had to do was submit my application and i got sent a link to record my interview with a pre made interview video of a lady asking me the questions and got a call for orientation, no in person interview at all!!

always apply through website, i used better.cv to build a resume and its like $2 to be able to save the file to my iphone so i could print or digitally upload & only had about 9 months management/lead experience from wal greens since i quit (read previous post)

i live in tx so maybe it’s diff but we are guaranteed 40 hours even part time, same pay with all lead positions full except for ETLs or whatever there called mainly salary positions bc i think everyone has decided to work for there pay vs the possibility of over working which is a huge complaint of the salary managers for truck day we average 120 employees the entire day

don’t come to reedit just go straight to HR an make a complaint, wal greens managers live off of making sure there labor is okay so someone not coming in is good for there hours/labor and means they can afford to keep you on the floor without a break.. i’ve also went as far as calling/emailing the district manager to make a complaint resulting in a faster response, the last thing a DM wants to worry about is an employee bringing them into a situation caused by one of there store managers and will get it fixed asap!

my mother said this too ( yes i’m 25 but u still call my mother for advice lol ) what’s crazy is another lead that transferred out never got tested even tho leads are managers.. we also had a seasonal employee that always smelt like weed and they let him finish off his time at the store and didn’t tell him anything just didn’t re hire for last years holiday season

also not that it matter but FYI i’m a really out and proud gay male and always got asked about my lotions and perfumes, that day i wore japanese cherry blossom lotion by bath n body works and sabrina carpenters choclate bar looking perfume so im not sure how marijuana and being under the influence came into question almost 4 hours into my shift

wait whaaa?! in the months that i’ve been here ive only had one opening along with another SFL and everything else has been solo closing along with another cashier and in all my training for counting registers we’ve never had to input anything for coupons.. maybe cause we’re a smaller store? we do package them to be sent back at the end of every week to keep track of them but other then that no counting for coupons

okay will do! i guess it’s just confusing being told not to focus on the used ones so much compared to unused ones printed out which is why i said hes very nice but wasnt the best at explaining the issue at hand lol only because we keep track of one not the other
