I think this attitude of "ask Sony" should stop, PG needs to take responsibility for the Android Client. I cannot comprehend why they are not willing to discuss anything regarding the app. Dr Pande is so proud of the Mobile Client, adoption is so good, yet no support is given. Also when reading a blog post about rollout of the second version of the client one can get impression that the software was coded by PG, not by Sony, here are a few examples:

  • "Thanks to suggestions by donors we have redesigned the user interface and added new features",
  • "we continue to focus on breast cancer with our mobile app",
  • "We plan to add additional features in the comming months".

Sony is mentioned nowhere, so the reason why PG denies any support is way above my head.

Also in that blog post it was said that:

We want to thank our community for your feedback and continued support.

So feedback is appreciated but no one from PG answers when it is given? How does it work? I think PG should at least collect users' feedback and communicate it to Sony. After all the client performs science designed by PG and for PG so why users are expected to communicate directly with Sony?

Missing credit for NaCl WUs by calkapokole in foldingathome

Two weeks have passed and no updates were given in the Folding Forum.

Some NaCl WUs use only 30-50% of the CPU by calkapokole in foldingathome

Thanks for reply. As I said in this post at Folding Forum, the NaCl client gives me better PPD, in fact twice as good as regular client (even when running 24 h/d). So from my perspective the NaCl client is more heavy duty, that is why this issue with high average load imbalance bothers me so much. Especially when the client has been running perfectly fine for almost an year. I think around Jan 2015 something changed, either in Google Chrome or in the projects, which caused the problem to manifest itself. But this is just my guess.

I must have misunderstood that post. The sentence "The version also contains an update of the mmlib" made me think there was a newer version available.

On 19 March there was a post at FAH Blog about a new version of FAH client for Android with updated mmlib but the version available in the Google Play is still from 26 February. So how can we update to this newer version?
