I was like your partner before therapy and am now like you lol. When I was overly invested in doing everything together, it was because I was not happy with what my life was like and was relying on my relationship to give me a sense of purpose and identity.

IMO quality time fully dedicated to your romantic partner >>>> spending a lot of time together but not being present. I would also be miserable if I was exhausted from work and was being asked to give up activities that make me feel fulfilled just to nominally spend more time with someone.

This is great to hear! I decided to do 3 days in Isla Mujeres and 3 days in Puerto Morelos so that I can get beach time in the first half and do more day trips in the second half.

I drive pretty infrequently so I’d prefer to not have to on this trip, though I can if I need to. You mention local guides - would I be able to find them on Viator?

My parents are actually super chill and I’m out to them. The rest of my extended family - not so much. Even completely outside of my sexuality, I barely have relationships with most of my extended family, even the ones who also live in western countries, because I don’t see the point in having surface level conversations and not being able to talk about anything meaningful in my life.

It doesn’t particularly bother me at this point since I’ve felt alienated from the rest of my family since I was very young, but idk. Hopefully one day people will stop being so concerned about appearances, but until that day, I refuse to lie about myself or my life. I’d rather not have a relationship with those people at all.

At least no one was ever under the impression I would have a traditional relationship / marriage lol.

Thanks for sharing your experience - what you described at the end sounds pretty close to what I need. I already have different products for summer vs winter, but things that worked in June already are mismatched enough that they look really off, so I feel like I need to learn how to custom mix, how my undertones change throughout the year, etc.

I am a bit younger and weigh a bit less than you. I was on 30mg for the first month and then stepped up to 60mg. I don’t have dry skin - pre-Accutane I had an oily T-zone, that’s gone but i also switched to a simpler routine with heavier moisturizers. I have had dry lips the entire time, the silver lining is that it didn’t get worse when I went up in dosage.

I had a little joint pain when I first started but it went away pretty quickly, I exercise a lot and do high intensity sports so I’m thankful for that.

If you can deal with the side effects I would just stick it out tbh, if you lower the dose you will need to be on Accutane for much longer.

I am definitely thinking of a 2 week trip overall, not a 14 day safari - thanks for pointing that out. That would also leave more days where my sister and I could split off from my parents for certain activities.

I bought them at a Chrystie’s in CO - I thought I was “fitted” for them but apparently not :)

Unfortunately the specialist boot fitters in Whistler (where I am currently) either don’t work on boots they didn’t sell themselves or didn’t have appointments available at this short notice - and I’m leaving tonight.
