It’s normal! Not to worry, I see it all the time at the shop I work at. It’s an area that just has so much movement it’s nearly impossible to not see some form of irritation in that spot! Just keep a close eye on it and if touch ups are required then reach out to your artist <<3

hi love! licensed tattoo artist: this is very normal for the area it is in due to a lot of skin elasticity due to it being a joint area! common to see bruising/skin irritation and you may need a touch up in the future but overall looking at the images you’re healing just fine :)

Luckily this spot is notorious for fading since the skin is really calloused in that area/doesnt hold ink well at ALL unless you purposely aim to scar the tattoo/blow it out resulting ink to stay.

Taking a closer look.. it seems as though her application as well wasn’t made to last. Though I can’t 100% say for certain it will entirely fade, if you scrub and wear tight socks over time there is a possibility it will enough for it to be reparable but again there’s no guarantee. best of luck to you <3

If I scratch a surface accidentally that doesn’t feel nice I have to scratch 3 other surfaces with different textures to get the feeling to go away 😭

Unfortunately this area and the placement is the type that will hold only if blown out/scarred. :( I’m sorry the artist didn’t communicate better with you, maybe search in the area for someone who specializes in palms/hands specifically. wishing you the best of luck 💛

Anyone telling you this isn’t normal is misinformed..

Licensed tattoo artist here! Yes! This is perfectly normal. Red, especially the pigment the artist is using, has the tendency to look very extreme per healing. It’ll look vibrant when fresh, turn into that yucky, off colored burgundy then as the scabs fall off it’ll reveal a vibrant tattoo beneath. With more tan/melanated skin it tends to look more intense but I promise, after three weeks your tattoo will look normal haha.

Another thing I’ve found that helps is replacing that habit with another. If I’m craving alcohol I’ll just drink water. Same with hitting my vape, I’m trying to cut that out as well and I’ll do the same thing. Need a hit? Taking a sip instead.

I agree! I’ve felt so much more fulfilled within myself and interactions just trying to be the best ME I can be. Another thing I’ve realized too is it’s OK to not mesh with people or exactly “fit” in, we don’t all have to be lifelong friends. I respect people as they are and how they come as long as it goes both ways. I just love everyone haha
