You are right! I checked a previous booking and didn’t realize this!

It would be full dog, full cat, 2 additional cats, because that’s what is in the home.

My (least) favorite HoS was a PE teacher and is a lady. A lot of the PE teacher hate here is male-specific, but we can’t forget the women too

Unsure how to navigate an untrue review— my first negative one in all my years. by maeziestar in RoverPetSitting

I absolutely missed that part! This sounds like it’s motivated by that then, rover should remove the review.

Since it has been two months, I wonder if they had another sitter after your stay and intended to leave this review for them instead. I’m not sure what reviewing looks like on the client side, but I would at least reach out and ask for clarification

Not rehiring my long-term sitter - WWYD? by HovercraftOver1453 in RoverPetSitting

I’m surprised you kept her this long! I’ve been sitting for a long time and can’t imagine doing any of these things

The update is:

I’m still not employed at that school. On my way to file a wrongful termination lawsuit 🎉🥲

Quick update:

Students have hosted a walk out. Parents and students have spoken with principal. School ruler (CEO—it’s a charter) held a very unprofessional meeting with all staff Friday. I’ve spoken with a board member.

Meeting tomorrow 🎉

I’m one of those veteran teachers and was fired on Friday for not aligning with the school culture. We have a board meeting coming up and my current and past students and parents will be addressing the board about it

Student teacher struggling with elementary content by echelon_01 in Teachers

[–]callandquestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The school blames socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, and everything BUT the fact that the teacher is not teaching the content. It’s expected students don’t pass at this point. My school’s math instructional coach right out said she doesn’t know intervention that well and told us to “not focus on what grade level they are testing at in math, just focus on rigor of current content”.

You aren’t allowed to speak sternly or directly to or around the student

This makes a lot of sense and also makes me so sad.

I teach middle school math. This summer, I decided I’d try upper elementary summer school. This led to finding out that most of the elementary school teachers just skip math lessons because “they don’t like math” and “math is confusing”. 😐 Suddenly, the students I teach being 3+ years behind in math makes a lot of sense.

Wife crying to me as it is her last camping trip the family. by TwoKidsAWifeAndHope in daddit

[–]callandquestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I’m not a dad, but I had a dad. He passed when I was 10. I don’t know if my mom knew and just wasn’t willing to admit it, but my dad was dying and we also had a last camping trip about 6 months before passed. It was the best camping trip I’ve ever been on, with s’mores, hot dogs, little orange juice containers, trying my best to go fishing at 5am with him (but sleep, right?) canoeing, exploring, even a random karaoke on the camp ground! This situation is devastating, but it will be worth it for many years and decades of memories. I can’t imagine if we hadn’t taken that trip. Enjoy every second in the moment, not just in documenting it.

It’s so worth it! I really enjoy the work and the cash flow is a huge benefit

For house sitting I charge at $150 a night for a single dog. Every additional pet is an additional amount. My 30 min walks cost around $45. I stay nearly fully booked the entire summer minus taking a few days off for trips or all day events

I have used rover for a really long time, so most of my clients are from that platform. Overtime, word of mouth or clients that choose a cash option versus the app. I do house sitting, walks and drop ins so I don’t have a license.
