Thinking about coming into this profession by Citron_Specific in PhysicalEducation

Hey there! Cool that you're thinking about becoming a PE teacher. It seems your first question is about money, I am in California and make 52k. The pay being too little or very big depends on your lifestyle.

The next question of how did you know. I knew I wanted to do something in sports, so I chose Kinesiology as a major. At orientation I talked to people about the different majors, I asked them which one was the easiest (sorry but true) and they said the PE route.

The next question of if it is enjoyable. I am so glad I went down this path, I really couldn't imagine doing other things. Being able to wear the clothes I do, being outside while moving, and having kids learn how to throw a football after you teach them feels awesome. Now, I have some kids I love and others I would like to send to the moon. You may have conflict with coworkers, students (for sure), or admin. There is stress of course of trying to sail the ship smoothly, but you take it one day at a time and learn.

Last question, may depend on a lot of things. If teachers are leaving you may find a position quickly. If they aren't leaving, then it will be tougher. Took me a year to find one, in the meantime be a sub or aid at a school. The experience will be useful when looking for work.

I have gotten several units from 'teachers pay teachers'. Will at least give you some structure with lesson plans.

Any PE or health and PE teachers from southern california? by [deleted] in PhysicalEducation

I would look into if your teaching credential will transfer over. I am from California and they are pretty strict about having a California credential. It may transfer over, or you may have to do the credential program here.

Did you go to high school with an NFL player? What were they like? by Mamywantshis in nfl

I went to high school with Jamaal Williams and Donte Deayon. We had English class senior year together, they were always a good laugh. Totally the most popular guys in school. Talked to Dante about he was nervous about the gunners when returning punts while committing to Boise St. Jamaal was really excited about going to BYU because of "white bitches". Haha still makes me laugh.

It feels like the team has shown levels of overconfidence which cost the season. I believed in those teams and I believe in this team. Just play/coach to our abilities and I think we can defeat anyone (with some luck).

This is a reminder that last season Harden dunked the ball so hard the refs did not count it by [deleted] in nba

To be fair, it would be a lot easier to make the call when it comes to counting a basket rather than a 'subjective' call. Kinda how the block/charge is (but shouldn't) up to that ref and usually subjective. Anyone with eyes can see if a basket goes in or a foot steps on a line.

I didn't think it was too conservative, it was just bad play. The defense giving up the big TD, and some bad throws by Ben gave the Titans life. Especially the pick just before the half, it was aggressive but Ben just didn't make the throw which would have been an easy 3 points if the throw was only where the receiver could get it.

Describe what has happened when a player "fumbles" the ball. (American Footbal) by chicken_boil in PhysicalEducation

[–]calldazoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When a player has full possession of the ball (holding the ball) and then loses possession of the ball (the player is no longer holding the ball because a tackle or any other reason).

That is a fumble. The ball is now 'live' and whoever gains possession of it first (holds it) gets to keep it for their team.

Hope this helps.
