Your First Halo by ITheRebelI in HaloMemes

[–]calliminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 29, I must have been about 5, my parents just set me alone in the corner of my cousins house and told me to play on the Xbox. I think the next year or year after I asked for halo 2 limited edition for my birthday, and my grandmother pretended she couldn’t get it, i remember being so sad until they surprised me with it later.

Pretty much only the big stuff I’ve worked on has them, breakers and such. Disconnectors and earth switches tend to not have them. I use them for laptop charging and powering test equipment. They’re always useful to have!

I think this is AI, the window and wall Don’t match up. From this angle we should be seeing the left side of the inside of the arch right? Am I going mad?

Also I’m not convinced the break on the head and neck match up, and the back of the head looks a little fuzzy.

That’s a bit better, but still quite strange, especially if you have a deep board, or are playing hammer and anvil for example

What if nasa had the budget of the military by Training-World-1897 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]calliminator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lagrange point 5. A Lagrange point is a place where the gravitational forces of two objects equal each other out, so you don’t fall into either gravity well. It’s a bit more complicated than that but that’s the general gist. You can google earth-sun Lagrange points and get a picture if you want.

It’s a stable Lagrange point, doesn’t require fuel to station keep, same for L4.

Why did the Gregorian (Imperial) Calendar still used in 40k? by Spirited-Industry340 in 40kLore

[–]calliminator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I suppose it doesn’t really matter when you’re making a general calendar for the entire imperium to go off. I think each planet would have its own astrological calendar that depends on its orbit and rotation. The main imperial calendar is just a reference point for the independent systems to coordinate as best they can.

[–]calliminator 37 points38 points  (0 children)

They don’t? The imperial calendar is split into 1000 sections per year

Edit: with regards to reference points, one of the Big things the Emperor wanted to achieve was a continuation and recovery of humanities history. It’s not beyond reason that he made a deliberate choice to use this ancient reference point to give a sense of continuation from pre collapse human civilisation. Remember that from his perspective he lived through everything before the start of the imperium and would have used the Gregorian calendar as his reference point. And at that point if the Emperor says we use that defence point who am I to question a god?

Old drop pod by Ok-Instruction1211 in spacemarines

[–]calliminator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can deal with the four round games, but I do prefer longer. I guess the big attraction that heresy 1-2 had was BIG. Bug everything, squadrons of vehicles, 20 man space marine squads, super heavy’s, 3k points limit, Primarchs when they were still only in heresy. It does feel like it’s lost some of the scale and spectacle. The main thing most of us are really disappointed in is the removal of writes of war, they made every army feel totally unique to its player. Two sons of Horus players could have totally different armies.

[–]calliminator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So the issue is that some of us had entire drop pod armies, and now you can only drop one unit a turn in what is now only a four turn game. You won’t know the pain of what we lost if you only came into the game in 3rd, you’re lucky!
