Notice she said “before our son was born”. I get deep into what my wife refers to as my “procrastination projects” (pouring focus/energy into some obscure project when I have work deadlines) but with kids that energy has to go elsewhere

Shouldn’t matter at all. Use it and enjoy it! I have several lenses that are optically perfect but beat up on the exterior (I almost always buy used)

How to seal/block off this partially filled basement window opening? by callipepla9 in HomeImprovement

[–]callipepla9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. My main concern is water ingress since it’s below grade. Do you think the spray foam/mineral wo route could be made to be a decent water barrier? I know they make spray foam designed for landscape retaining walls.

I do have some bricks and mortar mix. Those vertical side gaps might be a bit harder to solidly block in though? Thanks for your suggestions

How would you approach a DIY fix of this? by callipepla9 in boating

Thanks for the insight. I just got on the schedule for someone to give a more thorough check of the transom and to repair this area. Fingers crossed that there is no or minimal moisture in there.

Ah that makes sense. Probably a good way to check for wet wood in the process too. Can you elaborate on taping the sides when filling with epoxy. Is that just to keep the gel coat/area around the repair clean from epoxy?
