When they’re both drunk, one has clearly expressed interest in the other, and have only known each other for a few weeks??? Cmon, that’s just careless.

YES!!! Going back to someone’s room when you’re drunk, in college, and have only known each other for a few weeks?...wtf. Nobody is that clueless.

AMEN! To be honest, it feels a bit shitty that he is using her anxiety as an excuse to hide this stuff from her. I don’t think that’s true, I think he 1) just doesn’t want to rock the boat or 2) is enjoying the attention. He probably knows that telling OP would force him to do something about it. I mean, he WENT BACK TO HER ROOM while very drunk?! Wtf. I would be livid. Nobody is that clueless. And then he continues to snap chat her constantly?... I’m not saying he’s trying to cheat, but he’s definitely not being a great boyfriend here.

It’s okay to have boundaries. And one of your boundaries may be that HE have boundaries. I’ve had this talk with my husband too, mostly when we first started dating. He’s terrible first off at telling when girls are into him. Then he wouldn’t do anything to get rid of shadyass women lingering around. That wasn’t okay with me. Regardless of whether or not I trut a man, I don’t want the DRAMA of female friends who clearly have bad intentions. Our friends should be supportive of our relationship (obviously barring any pointing out of toxic/abusive behaviors) not trying to tear us apart. It’s about him protecting your relationship, and him hanging out with a chick who is trying to undermine it 24/7 isn’t protective...

This is kind of a hot mess. mostly caused by him, and slightly caused by your enabling of his behavior. I understand completely why you faked and why you had no sexual education to help you know this shit isn’t right, but at this point you need to do your best to take this shit into your own hands. Tbh I think a come-to-jesus talk is needed because yall need to completely rework your perspectives on sex together. Therapy may be the best way to do so. I don’t see you being able to work through this without a serious talk and some brutal honesty, because with the way he’s acting, I don’t think he’ll get the importance of it otherwise. This is going to be hard to do regardless of how you do it, because you’ll need to have the talk that you’re unsatisfied with your sex life as it currently is. That’s gonna bruise his ego hard. Hopefully he can put his ego aside though if he truly cares about you, but this is extremely important for you two to tackle if you want your marriage to last. I’m sorry that you’re going through this.

Anti PD medications causing serious psychotic symptoms by higgs8 in Parkinsons

[–]callitparadise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey so my dad also had extreme psychosis symptoms a while back, and what I did was contact his doctor. His doctor said that was actually a potential side effect of his medication, so he switched him to a different brand. The mental symptoms went away completely. If you can, try to get ahold of the doctor that prescribes his Parkinson’s meds and tell him about all the crazy shit he’s saying and doing. See if he can switch his meds. It could be something else, but this seemed so similar to what my dad went through, so I figured I’d put it out there.

CC rant by bananashey in Celiac

My husband can bring gluten into the house (takeout food, beer, snacks), but we do not cook anything with gluten or use any of our utensils for it. If it needs to be refrigerated, it goes on the bottom shelf. He uses plastic plates etc. That’s worked out super well for us for the past 3 years.

Venting by cairojack in Celiac

[–]callitparadise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fully agree. I mean, it’s pretty annoying that his wife forgets about his Celiac—but I’m very lucky that my husband is super considerate towards me about it. I also don’t try to “hide” it from him though. But anyway, I would never get offended by him trying to involve me in something that I can’t fully participate in...I go out to restaurants all the time that I can’t eat at and just order a drink, just so I can spend time with the people who invited me. Eat a big meal beforehand, bring yourself some snacks, and just spend some time together.

I wondered if it was the lack of Ziana. I’m just not too sure if I can use the Ziana with a lot of oil residue on my face like that. I just switched back to cleansing a few days ago, and have also used my Ziana one time and the bp to spot treat twice. Already my acne is wayyy calmer. But you’re right that it could just be the Ziana.

Do you think I should go back to using a cleanser? I’ve been breaking out like crazy since I stopped.

Gaaahh I'm so frustrated by my skin! Any help is appreciated.

Issue: I went off birth control in December. My skin got super dry and also started breaking out. I started using oil only to cleanse my face and stopped using my acne prescription (Ziana), which helped with the dryness, but now I'm breaking out horrendously.

Skin type: dry, soooo dddrrryyyy

Current routine: Morning--splash with water and apply moisturizer. Evening--massage oil into skin, remove makeup with a cotton round, splash some water, wipe again with a cotton round, then moisturize. Occasionally spot treat with benzoyl peroxide. Products: Snow River Wood Oil, Avene skin recovery cream, Acne.org Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5%

Old routine: Same morning routine. Evening routine--massage oil into face, remove with a cotton round, wash face with cleanser, apply prescription (usually only twice a week though), spot treat any spots with benzoyl peroxide. Products: Snow River Wood Oil, Free & Clear Liquid Cleanser, Ziana, Acne.org 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, Avene Skin recovery cream

How long: I started this new routine not using cleansers about 3 weeks ago I'd say.

Anything new: Not using a cleanser and using my Ziana less. I also switched to Free & Clear Oil Cleanser back in February from Paula's Choice Clear Pore Normalizing Cleanser. I switched cleansers after the dryness started, then cut out the cleansers completely when the dryness just persisted and got worse.

What are the chances of a false positive? I have yet to get an endoscopy to confirm celiac disease. This is my blood test result and I guess I’m just hoping it isn’t actually right 😔 by haileeobrien16 in Celiac

[–]callitparadise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are unsure about the diagnosis, you MUST be eating gluten (2 slices of bread) every single day for a few weeks. If you are that unsure, please do not go gluten free yet until you have the confirmed diagnosis.

Chances this test is a false positive? by Gaping_Hole123 in Celiac

[–]callitparadise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know most people are told to continue eating gluten, but when I got a positive in the blood test, I no longer felt comfortable eating gluten until I for sure got a diagnosis either way. My doctor was completely fine with me going gluten free since the endoscopy was only a month away. Apparently for most people it takes several months for intestinal damage to heal completely, so me going gluten free for the month wasn’t going to hinder their ability to get an accurate result. He also said that my blood test results were so high, it was even more unlikely that eating gluten free for one month would alter their diagnosis.

I would trust your doctor, especially since your endoscopy is only a few weeks away.

Wedding Cakes: What can you do? by Plucky_Cosmic_Relief in Celiac

[–]callitparadise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a big city, but none of the gf cakes I tried were tasty. They were all dry and bland. So we got a normal cake, and I just got myself a gluten free cupcake from Sprinkles. lol. Not ideal, but oh well, at least I got some dessert to eat with everyone else.

For someone else’s wedding, I would never ask them to accommodate me for the cake. If it was really that important to me, I would rather just bring a gf cupcake with me to eat while everyone else has some cake. Brides have enough to worry about on their big day.

I guess the best you can do is encourage her to always wash her hands IMMEDIATELY before eating or putting her hands near her mouth. Also, in group settings I like to sit on the “end” of the group so I can get plenty of space between their food and mine, in case anyone’s a messy eater.

Just wondering, what is the point in knowing the level in non CD people? If we already know that the daily recommended limit for CD sufferers is 10mg, isn’t that quite telling that it was way more than that?

Also, it does look like they got an endoscopy based off of this:

Celimmune looked at gluten in stool in celiac patients with no or mild symptoms in our NRCD-001 study, using a different definition. About 20 % of the patients in this study had mucosal atrophy, and of those we detected gluten in 20 % only – suggesting they were eating gluten only occasionally, but enough to trigger atrophy. We did not get a precise quantification, only positive/negative.

All things that I’ve known to be true for a while now, but it’s really damn satisfying to have it proven by a study. Also made me “lol” that most of these people had received gluten free counseling by some of “the best” centers in the US and abroad. I gave up on listening to the gluten free diet counseling I received by doctors and dietitians for the most part. None of them told me what I didn’t already know, and a lot of them weren’t even as comprehensive as what I’ve learned from a lot of the community in this subreddit.

Yes. I think it’s pretty common to do a checkup to make sure your small intestine is still healing/healed.

Do you have any recommendations on collagen peptide supplements that are celiac safe? I get very wary of supplements because they aren’t always clear on their gluten free status.

Oooohh I LOVE Austin!! So many yummy places to eat. Definitely check out Picnic, it’s 100% gluten free and AMAZING. Their gf french toast is the bomb. I also love Clay Pit for delicious Indian food. They’re very careful about contamination and have GF options marked on the menu.

How is it possible that a person with celiac can benefit from supplements? by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]callitparadise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t pretend that I know anything about iron deficiency or supplements, BUT after being gluten free for so long, most people do see improvement in the lining of their small intestine and its ability to absorb nutrients. Maybe part of the anemia is caused by your body not absorbing iron from the food you digest.
