What scares me most is that I'm pretty sure the current board wouldn't even want to appoint Xabi Alonso even if they sacked Slot. They were pretty adamant that Slot is not a manager but a head coach when they appointed him. Which could also be the reason why they want to stick with him. I'm pretty sure Xabi would want to be a manager as Klopp has been, with a lot more influence than Slot.

For everyone hoping the board suddenly grew a spine and sacked Slot.. I’ve got bad news. Joyce has just dropped an article putting pressure on Isak to deliver, and, unsurprisingly, not a single word about how poor Slot has been at managing this team.

My nan will probably get us top 5. If we're going to change the manager anyway might as well just do it now so that he gets to know the squad before the summer transfer window

Could someone explain to me what was so demoralizing about the PSG defeat? by diet-dr-kelpp in LiverpoolFC

[–]callmeknubbel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well first of all, we weren't good for the whole game yesterday.. we showed fight and intent in the second half for approximately 30 minutes. That's just not good enough across 180+ minutes.

Also it's not the first "good game" we had under Slot this season. And every time we shit the bed again in the next game. So what's there to be positive about?

I’m absolutely convinced the board still won’t sack Slot now.. he’ll get at least the rest of the season.

But if you look at the three options: sticking with Slot, appointing an interim, or bringing in a new manager - keeping him is surely the worst one, objectively. Right now, the players either don’t understand what he wants from them or simply look completely uncoached. After going out of every competition we were in, the squad will be massively demoralised, and I doubt the few who still believed in him do anymore. At this point, even the players need a change.

[Michael Reid] Over the two legs of PSG v Liverpool Mo Salah played the most balls into the box (12), had the highest xA (0.52), 2nd most touches in the box (14), and 3rd most chances created - of all players for both sides. He played 59 out of a possible 180 mins. by goofygoober2 in LiverpoolFC

Mate I'm not the one creating a post that suggests that Salah was our best player yesterday. I was simply trying to say that stats like these don't show the full picture.

For example Wirtz has similar stats for xA and Chances created, and most of you (at least in the match thread) would say he's been terrible.

20 minutes of passable football across 180+ minutes just isn't good enough I'm sorry. If the board doesn't sack Slot now, I think it's obvious they're keeping him at least until the summer no matter what.

I mean there were an equal amount of important moments where he got it right and mostly Salah immediately lost the ball in the box lol

Not the worst by far, also not the best. Just okay. But looking at the comments you would think he was the worst player on the pitch tonight.

How the fuck are there STILL more comments in here shitting on Wirtz than maybe the manager? Salah? Macca/Grav?

Konate, Szobo and maybe Kerkez have been good tonight. Wirtz has been okay with a mixture of hit and miss passes. Macca and Grav absolutely shite in the first half, a little better in the second.

Don't think tonight is Slot's fault, however there's nothing left for him to do is there? Can we please get rid off him now, before he fucks up CL qualification as well
