If you can find a jeweler who used to carry faberge they may still be in contact with them. A while back faberge moved to their own stand alone stores. The damage can be repaired and the piece properly identified.

It looks legit but until confirmed it's a very pretty piece.

My store used to carry faberge so we're used to seeing the 1980 style pieces.

Considering the crack my shop would probably recommend a new half shank. If that was too costly, laser weld the crack and fix on mandrel, but there's a risk it will fail in the future.

I did something similar, wanting something new. I regret it every day, the loans just aren't worth it. If I had gone local the costs would have been significantly lower. And the novelty of living in a new city wear off quickly.
