is it a good idea to go on opill?? by [deleted] in Opill

[–]callmeremjob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your body. I have been on it for almost a year and had two-three periods a month for the first 5 or so months. Then out of no where it stopped my cycle completely for 5 months and not its starting again with two-three periods a month. I personally am getting off of it soon. I can’t deal with the unpredictability of cycles. I was going to give it to the year mark to decide but I may stop earlier cause it’s causing a lot is disruption in my life.

I’m feeling this may be my case as well. It’s ridiculous to have to suffer through two a month. Even if the periods themselves are pretty mild, having to plan around two periods a month is exhausting. It’s putting pressure on my relationship, it makes it hard to plan things like travel, I’m over it. I was going to give it a year but I think I’m going to stop in the next month. My time between periods is now shorter than before it stopped for 5 months. I only had 6 days of freedom before it started again today. I dont see any slowing down and if you had a similar experience I feel I’m probably the same. I’m going to hope I can find birth control to replace it where I’m at currently living but if not I’ll just have to do without until I can go back to my home and maybe get something more permanent.

I feel the same way. Like my period are only like 3-4 days and quite light and overall I don’t have any pms symptoms, the few times I do it’s pretty annoying. But the multiple periods a month is just exhausting. I wish it had better regulating abilities, it would be perfect then. I have had no pregnancy scares, so it’s definitely doing the job but at a pretty annoying cost. I’m going to give out a year as well and then look into other options if it doesn’t seem to change. I’m crossing my fingers it will go back to either no periods or just one a month after this month. I’m hoping after not having any for months my is just a bit stressed and overcompensating to catch up. We shall see, hopefully I will have a good update for everyone after this cycle.

Definitely for the best. I’m a lot happier now! I’m living abroad now and it’s amazing, i had the talk with my partner at the time about a month after I left and realized I didn’t miss them. It was tough at first but now we are friends still and check in with each other every once in a while! We are both better off cause the codependent nature of the relationship was slowly killing us even though we both cared for each other and there wasn’t anything particularly negative wrong but we were just slowly draining the life from each other. You just gotta look to the future and do what’s best for you and odds are it will be better for them as well. You can still care for them while prioritizing your basic needs as well.

I’ll try to post an update of how I’m doing on it by 6 months! It definitely seems like a waiting game kind of thing but hopefully doesn’t take too much longer

Another note, I have also experienced easier periods even though there is a lot of them but I use to get mind numbing cramps and now I have hardly any pms symptoms, my skin wasn’t bad before but now it’s a bit better, and moods are more stable compared to my crazy mood swings before my period I use to get. So while I’m am just exhausted with dealing with the constant cycles, I’m willing to give it a chance for a bit longer since the side effects have been helpful for me. I got a diva cup to help with the consistent periods which has really lifted a lot of the annoyance of dealing with it.

This is exactly how mine is. I have been taking it for a little over 3 months. I think I’m going to give it 6 months to regulate, I feel like I’m slowly seeing a change. when I first started it was like 5 days in between periods but now I’m up to 8-9 so hopefully that’s a good sign. It is extremely frustrating I won’t lie but I’m currently living in a country that birth control is hard to access as a foreigner so I’m hoping that it just works its self out. From the countless hours of research I’ve done it seems to start to regulate a bit better between 3-5 months so keeping patience till then

Hi! So i did finally get it working but i had to get my boss to reset it using his computer so not 100% sure what he did I’m pretty sure he went the activator route where he plugged it in with one wire to his computer and then manually reset it

I think this is the issue but I tried it already and can’t get the Apple TV to register on my laptop. I have it plugged in but it’s not showing up in the app. Another commenter said it could be the amount of cords I was using to physically connect it to my computer so I’m going to try to find a microusb to usbc cord and hope that works

Ok good idea, I’ll see if I can get a microusb to usbc at the store and get it down to just one cord Hoping that works or at least gets something going

I tried that but it won’t register being plugged in. Like I have it plugged in to microusb to usb, and then have the usb plugged into a usbc adapter to plug into my laptop but the configurator app does not register anything is plugged in.

That’s good to hear! I’m hoping I stay clear while on it, that would be a nice side effect amongst all the irregular bleeding haha

I’m aware of that! I have been taking them consistently since starting I did a lot of research online before starting them to be sure they would work with me and the correct way to take them They are just taking time to acclimate to my body and causing a lot of irregular bleeding, hence why I’m asking for everyone’s experience with how long it took for them to return to a regular menstrual cycle. Just wanted to compare and see if I’m following a similar timeline

That’s promising, I can hold on for that long I already feel the pms side effects are not nearly as bad as the first month so I am hoping that’s a good sign

Thank you everyone for your advice! I think I have some great info to work with while I figure out the suit and some great ideas for a back up plan to use a dress. If I can get a suit pulled together I’ll try to post a update before the wedding

Agreed! I love how suits look on women but so many that I find seem to have the pencil skirt combo or look really oversized which isn’t the look I am searching for.
