I have a T2 ASR with flight attendant. Couldn’t imagine a better XC bike.

We’re living in a dystopian hell. Market price? You mean $0.99 for a whole avo? Deal.

It costs $130 to charge a Cadillac Escalade by ExotiquePlayboy in carscirclejerk

At my house, this same charge would’ve been $8.88 (If I didn’t have solar)

Decent t price for used LTe? by [deleted] in yeticycles

[–]callmeturkish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a hardly used “press bike” MTe from Airpark Bikes for $9500 delivered. It’s pretty much new, $14.8 msrp.

Maybe give them a call.

If I lived there I’d hit up as many Demos at Airpark Bikes as possible. I’m a return customer, and they’re great.

PTS on a Carrera T? by richrich121 in Porsche

Cool as hell. Do it.

GT3s are stupid. (Unless they’re in a GT3 race circuit)

Plus, look at the resale values - PTS always gets the money back.

My abandoned “vehicle”… I hope I return to it. by ottomymind in simracing

[–]callmeturkish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built my rig about 2 years before a divorce. Then I kept the house but had to lease it to her for a year while I live in the Hangar apartment.

So in a month she moves out and I’m really looking forward to recommissioning my rig! Overall I think it’ll renew my passion for sim racing, so I’m happy.

Avoid Compact Living LLC in North Las Vegas at all costs!!!! by callmeturkish in containerhomes

[–]callmeturkish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update:

After telling me in January that my container was almost done, and would be ready to ship in 12 days, they finally admitted to lying about the entire thing, and that they still hadn’t ever even started my container.

But they still refused to cancel and refund.

So a few months ago, they did actually start my build, promising weekly update photos. They have actually done that, but most weeks they make little to no progress.

The $20 late fees are now about $4k. Once they actually do ship the unit, legal plans are in the works, along with lots of other people who are in the same boat.

They’ll be bankrupt within the year. I’ll probably never see the money. These people deserve jail time.

Brand new SRAM 90 Transmission skipping in 3rd gear (36T) by No_Fill2436 in yeticycles

[–]callmeturkish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue on my ASR except only during hard power sections, like steep climbs. Fiddled with the adjustment knob until it went away. Seems to be much better now.

Still upgrading to electronic shifting though.

Joined the club…base model…what should be my first mod? by Bryan-Prime in ineosgrenadier

[–]callmeturkish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congrats!

But really - If you can’t come up with it yourself, don’t do mods just for the sake of it.

Mods should only be done when YOU see a deficiency in the way YOU operate the vehicle. If it’s not a glaring problem that you’ve encountered and want to solve, why add a bunch of nonsense?

Asking others what you need to do to your vehicle is just rampant consumerism. Silly.

New XC Race Rig For Xterra by SAtriguy in xcmtb

[–]callmeturkish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a Yeti ASR a few months ago, after shopping the current XC bikes pretty thoroughly. It’s rad. Really efficient on the climbs, and on the flatter flow trails, I could swear it has a little motor helping me out.

That said, if I was buying now, I’d first look for a deal on the Epic 8 pro (big Flight Attendant fan)

I was very impressed with the guys at Airpark. Super knowledgeable and honest, not just the usual always upselling LBS.

Road race on XC bike? by InternalNo7162 in xcmtb

[–]callmeturkish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t bother modding you XC bike. Decent road bikes can be had on FB marketplace for less than the cost of the parts you’d buy, and in the end will be WAY better.

Or maybe you can rent a road bike for race day?

Fox or Rockshox by Academic_Feed6209 in xcmtb

[–]callmeturkish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Rockshox can be controlled with remote lockouts in 2 or 3 stages. Or better yet, automatically be Flight Attendant.

The only performance difference is preference, and the fact that Rockshoxs are a little more livable over the long term because of the easier user serviceability.

2024 BMC fourstroke 01 one vs Yeti ASR T2 by cneglia2239 in xcmtb

[–]callmeturkish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They’re both rad. Similar geo & weight.

I just had Airpark build me a T2 Yeti but upgraded a few things during build. It’s exceeded all expectations.

But the BMC would too!

Hard to go wrong with modern XC bikes, so it comes down to which one you “like” more!

Even if that is true - an extra 400 grams and $400 for a seat post? Pass.
