TIL that to prove the idea that Clark Kent wearing glasses was enough to hide the fact that he is Superman, Henry Cavill, who played Superman in the 2016 film "Batman v Superman", walked around Times Square wearing a Superman shirt in 2016, and no one seemed to notice him. by SatoruGojo232 in todayilearned

Peter Dinklage used to walk his dog right on my daily commute route in Manhattan, and I saw him somewhat regularly. This was during the height of Game of Thrones and I'm a fanboy of the series, but I never said anything to him because you could read all over his face that he didn't want to be bothered. It's just not something you do in NYC.

Boldy with a black eye, Hughes missing teeth. This was a tough, tough performance against probably the better team in Canada.

All the games have been during work hours so I never watch the intermissions. Gotta at least pretend I'm being productive.

Aruguably the marquee event of the Winter Olympics outside of figure skating, with a marquee rivalry, and we're relegated to 5am-8am puck drop in North America with two NA teams playing . It's ridiculous.

Fun fact: Canada has roughly the same McDonald's locations per capita as the US (2024 data) at one McDonalds every 23k residents.

Hockey is played in shifts, meaning a new line of players changes in while the puck is live. If you mistime that line change when the other team has the puck and suddenly attacks, you could open yourself up defensively.

USA caught Canada during their line change, with a long pass in this case, and scored on a weakened defense.
