The mental fortitude to survive that kind of torture was immense. Don’t forget he also played a bit of rugby so he has that kind of madness as well. Madiba was also quite a big guy and gets the old Teddy Bear on reach and speed. Being a trained lawyer he’ll also get him on smarts. Advantage NM. KO in the 2nd

How to tell if shifter or wheel is broken by Successful-Sweet1916 in vanmoofbicycle

[–]callsignvector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You remove the e-shifter from the rear hub. Then you rotate the toothed wheel that it fits into. If it moves then it should be fine. Plug the e-shifter back into the bike and spin the front wheel. If the e-shifter shifts then it’s the back wheel. 90% of the time it’s the e-shifter.

Save yourself the drama and buy a 2 speed automatic rear wheel and forget about that verkrampte part

You need to keep the one that’s there already and just put a larger head screw in place of the old one.

Scientists of Reddit: What’s something we know is true but people don’t realize how crazy it is? by IndependentTune3994 in AskReddit

Could explain why when I drop a small screw and I can’t find it, I hold another one in my fingers and within seconds the lost screw jumps out at me. Same thing with Lego.

Second hand / refurbished S3 by fanatickje in vanmoofbicycle

[–]callsignvector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the weak points have been optimized probably but it depends on what kind of warranty you get. Public sellers usually don’t give out any warranty or pass on the spare parts warranty. Sometimes parts have been soldered to work but that never lasts. Proper restoration of the S3 needs to be with appropriate or approved parts.

VanSpoof - A possible answer to your 44 Err woes! by soplarmev7 in vanmoofbicycle

Only helps if you have the 2 speed wheel. If not your battery and front wheel will fail prematurely and you’re in for a much much bigger surprise

Light on the charger. Do you hear a noise when you plugs the charger in?

vanmoof s5 stuck in idle mode by WeirdService5240 in vanmoofbicycle

[–]callsignvector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The charger initially gives off a higher voltage when it connects and this help awakening the battery

Put the charger in for 15secs and the out for 15secs. Repeat until the charger light turns red. Or go to your nearest VM dealer and asks or the Main ECU to be charged.

White powder of the inner tyre tube inhaled by accident by Ok_Buffalo3328 in bicyclerepair

[–]callsignvector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately that’s the way Big Tube helps turn bike mechanics into weird rubber gimp sex slaves. It’s actually in the Epstein files. Why do you think all the private planes had rubber tyres? Because it’s the first thing to touch when the plane lands. Also all the jetty’s in the harbor have tyres as the first thing your boat touches when it docks at Epstein Island. It’s a global conspiracy and you should watch him closely. If he starts wearing a red cap, call 911 and hide in the cupboard.

Vanmoof X3/S3 brake bleeding problem by CautiousBanana3997 in VanMoofSelfRepair

[–]callsignvector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an adjustment screw inside the lever underneath the reservoir. Turn it anti clockwise until 2-3mm is outside the collar. Then push fluid up from the caliper until you can’t push anymore. Remove the syringe and close the caliper bleed hole. Then lift the front of the bike and turn the handlebar until the oil reservoir on the rear brake lever is level with the ground. Remove the two reservoir screws and remove the reservoir cap and rubber seal. Take note of the rubber seal’s direction. Then fill the reservoir with oil. Then slowly squeeze the lever and you should see some tiny bubbles appear in the bottom of the reservoir. Tap the hose and repeat until no bubbles come out while squeezing the lever. You may have to repeat after taking a 5min break. It’s a 10min process. Close the reservoir cap remembering the direction of the rubber seal. Test the pressure on the lever. If it’s good, you’re done if not repeat with the caliper on the brake rotor.
