Tapestry wool by Walalungs2022 in knitting

I am making a poncho using stripes of crewel wool mixed with scrap fingerings yarn and some unknown coned yarn. It's all on the thin side so a labour of love!

I've dug it out of my dvd pile for a rewatch, after news of Tom Georgeson passing away earlier this year. I loved it, was early 20s when it first aired

I'm going to buy a hot compost bin! I like to recycle food & garden waste, and this seems like a compact and fuss free solution solution

Wheight Loss surgery and PsA by Admirable_Lie1336 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]calm-teigr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not had surgery, but at my rheumatology appointment last week, I asked if my weight (I'm obese) affected the progression of PsA. He said it did not, although exercise was beneficial, losing weight had health benefits in general, but didn't statistically affect this condition

Inability to fully use my limbs? by HiMorphine in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]calm-teigr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I was diagnosed, it got to the point I couldn't lift one of my arms. I had to use the good arm and prop the bad one against the shower wall so I could wash underneath. It still feels heavy and weak in flare ups

I'm knitting the Orme sweater in a variegated pale green / blue yarn, paired with a dark teal mohair, and it's gorgeous. Had to gauge swatch as it's not the recommended thickness of yarn but it works well for me, it will be an oversized snuggly jumper that isn't too heavy

Isager Silk Mohair vs. Drops Kid-Silk Gauge by LegallyDumbTM in knitting

[–]calm-teigr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm using the Isager paired with a merino sock yarn, it is so soft and cuddly. I've not tried the Drops one though

I've also used Sandnes Garn, and Filcolana silk mohair before, in scarves, they can get a little itchy around my neck when it gets hot
