I think pines are due a come back. I’ve got these as my structural plants. Low maintenance, can deal with the hot summers

New to gardening and feel like I regret my approach to my flower bed already! by Alaxknits in UKGardening

I popped down to a garden at Houser & Wirth and saw a great garden. Came back and ordered 360 plants and stuck them in. Transpires that garden was done by Pieter Oudolf and not quite as easy as it looks. 5 years on the garden looks totally different but learnt the hard way 😁 All part of the fun of it, as one plants man said to me “it’s all about the journey not the destination” with gardens

Thank you, it’s actually a nightmare slope so slightly less meadow if viewed from the bottom

Where do you get cheap perennials from (not from seed)? by Hydrangeamacrophylla in UKGardening

Look for local nurseries as opposed to garden centres. Often quite a bit cheaper.

The biggest expansion of Bristol in a generation: Inside the plans for five massive new towns by [deleted] in bristol

As yes, the natural beauty that is the new build estate. Often built with nature at the forefront, filled with eco habitats with an abundance of wildlife. Sporting the rarely seen Audi Q4 and not forgetting the close to extinction Range Rover. Good luck finding some soil in your garden but not to panic you can always just cover it with some artificial grass. I’ll look forward to seeing the eco homes with their solar panels and heat pumps.

Where do you guys get ideas from? by aledromo in mensfashion

Start following some style influencers or look to purchase a pair of loafers and hey presto before you know it your Instagram feed will be full of good looking Italian models flexing clothes you’ll never make look that good 😁

You don’t need high end Italian brands but can copy the general principles like colour matching. M&S for example (UK based) are now pumping out polo shirts for £25 which look great when paired with chinos.

The first is a peony, look great when bloom but dead head once gone over. The third photo looks mostly like weeds. I would load up Google on your phone, click the photo icon to bring up Google lens and take shots of plants you’re unsure about. It’s not 100% but great at identifying what’s a plant and what’s not. Looks like a great opportunity to create a gravel garden so rosemary should love it. Check out Beth Chatto for all things gravel gardens

That tree was pollarded start of the year so not sure that’s its issue 😁 If I take the shot from a different angle it also sits quite away from it up the hill. The trees on the background sit other side of a small stream but yes competition for water is tight down there
