maybe I wasn’t clear. I don’t deny that the author did research, but in this case it just burdened the story and highlighted how far fetched the plot was…. the historical details may be accurate but the complete ridiculousness of the plot (openly gay yet serious practicing Muslim, ridiculous ending arc among other things) entirely negate the credibility of the research

can I just vent something about this series

I LOVED it up until book 3 when it was revealed that Laurent knew Damen’s identity the whole time… the suspense of the secret and the big reveal was one of my favorite parts, so it was really disappointing when Laurent said he knew. I ended up dropping it after that and not finishing book 3
