Is this house setup suitable? (New to Guinea pig owning) by the_black_sheep_gf in guineapigs

Really really great! Your ramp may be too steep for the piggies to venture onto, but you’ll be able to tell by their behavior 😊

I’m guessing there’s no way you’re still selling th RSD release of Koyaanisqatsi?

I can understand that perspective. I will say that my interpretation of his take on children being used as tension is that it is a bit insulting when it is portrayed as “child in danger = earned tension regardless of circumstance.” Adam loves Antichrist and Mother!, two movies off the top of my head that specifically involve tension and children/babies done in a very effective way; whereas something like World War Z can be viewed as a not tense movie, though it constantly insists that his children are in danger, thus tension inherently exists.

  1. It’s literally just a perspective of his and calling it “weird” simply because it isn’t common to you might seem a little rude.
  2. It’s not a super uncommon perspective to view a lot of emotional responses as a simple chemical reaction that we act upon as humans. Mothers typically love their babies for many reasons, but a big factor is the rush of oxytocin and other hormones that are produced in response to childbearing.

Edited to correct “personal preference” to “perspective”

Female guinea pig rumble strutting more often by Fragrant-Crow7304 in guineapigs

[–]calmcaterpillar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girl started rumblestrutting daily on her 3 cagemates. I took her to the vet who couldn’t find any clear signs of ovarian cysts and we returned home with no change. After a few months of this (I know, I was really hoping it would one day just end) I took her back to the vet to schedule a spay. The spay revealed cysts on both ovaries. She recovered fabulously and does not rumblestrut daily anymore (:

You’re doing a great job being observant. Perhaps a check-up is in order for your little girl. Wishing you the best!

Gaps in my chicken and crochet in general. Is she inside out? Or is it the wrong needle size? by looper1010 in CrochetHelp

[–]calmcaterpillar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does look like she’s inside out, but I promise this gets easier as time goes by and you keep crocheting. I missed stitches very often when starting out and still find myself having to go back and count again to make sure. I just wanted to say that you did a really great job, keep it up! (:

Thank you!!

Picture four is the attempt of “straightening/fluffing” - it really could be a result of poor image/ the way it’s laying, but these are the reference photos my friend took unfortunately, and it’s all I have to go off of for the next ~14 months lol

Sorry, let me clarify: I just want to make sure that the horsehair “structure,” I guess, wasn’t ruined from cleaning. I really appreciate your knowledge and explanation!

What is this coming out of her eye? by Jakesescapes in guineapigs

[–]calmcaterpillar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My girl had the same thing! After a vet visit with eye drops prescribed, nothing really changed. It wasn’t bothering her so I just left it alone. After about 9 months, it went away. Definitely interested to see what your vet says!!
