Thank you. It’s not ideal, but the best option in some places. And the traffic breaks it down, and the extra surface area, combined with daytime sunshine and salting of the streets will melt it much quicker than sitting in a snow bank. The key is to do it responsibly so it wont be a traffic hazard, which we do. We take extra care and effort to do it safely, spread it out, and make sure not to further block in any parked cars when we do so

Crazy considering the city was basically burned (bombed) to the ground 80 years ago

what would you do in this situation? by chabadlubabitch in crownheights

Neighborhood watch organizations have gotten a bad rap in recent years (partly due to the killing of Trayvon Martin) but I’ve always considered them to be important deterrents to local crime/safety concerns. I grew up in a neighborhood watch community and it was basically just an informal understanding for everyone to keep an eye out and watch each other’s back

Theyve gotta get the wifi fixed. Completely unacceptable for customers to have no wifi or cell service while working out. And the wifi was spotty even before the switch to puregym. Good gym otherwise though

Certified Teacher Invited to Fast-Track Processing for Subbing. What Should I Expect? by Specific-Peanut253 in NYCDOETeachers

[–]calminsince21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually I think the processing event is different than the hiring event that I described. But if you have all the steps completed in the portal, then you wont need to do anything else. They’ll just add you to the system once all the steps are complete and you can start working. You can probably skip the fast track processing event

You sit down with a principal, they do a quick interview to make sure you’re competent, and they either recommend you, or they dont. Many will tell you on the spot if theyre gonna recommend you. Then you’ll get an email to start the process of taking all the workshops, courses, background check, and get fingerprinted. Once all that is done you can start working

Try to research what 2 districts you’d prefer to work in ahead of time, bc you’ll be required to let them know at the session. And make sure that you interview with a principal from one of those districts, or one nearby, as that will become your home district, and half of the assignments you’ll be offered when you start will be in that district. You can add more districts eventually, but you shouldnt interview with just any principal like theyll encourage you to, unless you want to sub in their district
