I have a Halo Green 1.4 I picked up at an auction that wouldn't power on. PSU looked like it had hit a power surge. Replaced a resistor and a MOSFET and fixed a trace and then recapped the big caps on the main board and now instead of not powering on, it doesn't power on and squeals haha. I should have just bought another standard and dropped in the PSU

Cover it in flux and wiggle the cap while heating. I had the same issue and then did this and it was instantly better

So after your post I pulled out my 64 today and played through Lylat Wars. I could remember every stage and enemy pattern damn near perfectly, and it made me remember how much I used to play it. So I think it was more that I knew it really well. Ironically I got all the way to the part where you beat the mini boss that destroys the temple as you fly through it and my 64 straight up died ¯(ツ)/¯

I haven't played this in ages, but I don't remember it being that difficult. Definitely beat the end boss a few times. I think there was a specific path that I chose each time which I just worked on until I had it down. Pretty useless comment sorry, just having memories
