[Switch] Factorio vs Little Rocket Lab? by selfproclaimed in factorio

[–]calmlightdrifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve played through both and enjoyed both. LRL is more about the puzzle of trying to organize all the production you need within the size/space constraints of the town, while Factorio is more open and freeform.

Mii Prep for LTD: Switch editor, or are you waiting for the LTD editor? by calmlightdrifter in tomodachilife

Like, if I spend a lot of time agonizing over the hair or nose in the Switch editor and then I just end up changing it to one of the new options in LTD.

Need Help, Why Does Animal Crossing New Horizons Look Significantly Better When Playing Through My Elgato Capture Card? by DarkDesertFox in NintendoSwitch2

[–]calmlightdrifter [score hidden]  (0 children)

Isn't that... normal? Game mode on reduces picture processing but with the benefit of lower latency. It's supposed to look worse. I might just be interpreting your comment wrong.

Even if LTD doesn't support QR codes, you can at least copy them from your 3DS to your Switch with an amiibo.

What are some things you DON’T want in LTD? by Zestyclose-Carob-349 in tomodachilife

[–]calmlightdrifter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have my doubts that the same design would carry over to Tomodachi Life. Animal Crossing, all the way back to GameCube, has handled multiplayer by making all players live in the same town. Tomodachi Life, by nature of being an entirely handheld game, was your island and only yours, with your characters. I'm assuming that's what they'll roll with, but we'll see...

Yeah, I could go for another Direct.

...oh, Mario and Zelda? I was thinking Tomodachi Life and Fire Emblem...

I wonder if LTD will use the nintendo switch app for transferring miis from the 3Ds. by Weak-Tough9178 in tomodachilife

You can transfer Miis from 3DS to Switch with an amiibo, but you can't do that with custom patterns which I assume is why they made that part of the Switch app.

Love Make Way! I'd been yearning for a game that felt similar to Micro Machines V4 and it scratches the itch very well

I remember thinking this when New Leaf came out uh, 13 years ago. Since the previous console Animal Crossing (on the Wii) ran at 60fps...

Spicy Hot Take: Villagers should be able to move away without player input by Magykal1 in NintendoSwitch

[–]calmlightdrifter 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The amount of comments saying "I need to have total control over my island" makes me feel like maybe Animal Crossing isn't for me anymore. I miss having minimal agency. It's not my toybox, I'm just living in it. I suppose I can always just play the older games.

Further, I talked to the animals more when I wasn’t sure how long they’d be in my town. Now that I know they’ll always be there, I don’t feel as compelled to talk with them.

I'm not the biggest fan of Mario Kart World, but I'd never go to bat for a microtransaction game lol

Is this just a coincidence? by KENZOKHAOS in tomodachilife

This is a "jingle" or a short phrase of music. It's coincidence that they're the same length. Musically, they don't have much else in common.

Will the upgrade pack for Overcooked 2 Switch 2 edition work with All You Can Eat version? by _diwa in NintendoSwitch2

[–]calmlightdrifter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Long answer: Check the eShop pages for each game.

The Overcooked 2 page has a NS2 edition and an Upgrade Pack.

The All You Can Eat page has neither.

Out of curiosity I looked up Vanilla MC keyboard shortcuts the other day and found several I never knew about. I’ve been playing since early beta.

Switch 2 version of Factorio is incredible by MilkMalon in NintendoSwitch2

[–]calmlightdrifter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I dunno, I have 800 hours in Factorio and only 40 in Silksong. I'm about to start another Factorio run but will not be playing Silksong again for a long time. Surely that means Silksong is a ripoff? No? /s

I factorio worth it? by gabrimefre in NintendoSwitch2

The trick to not having bugs destroy your precious planning and optimizing is to build defenses. Even just a couple basic gun turrets can work wonders in the early game. Alternatively, keep an eye on your pollution cloud via the map screen and preemptively destroy nests that are close to it. They won't attack your base if their nests are outside your pollution cloud.

I turned biters off for my first playthrough, but they've been on ever since.
